NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort

The resort is amazing and staff was very friendly. We stayed there in different 2 villas, one was an overwater villa and the other was a sunset villa with a private pool. Both were fully facilitated, clean and comfortable. The water color of the sea was turquoise beautiful and the meals were rich in variety and very tasty

It was long journey to get here

The insland was very very nice (one of the best I visited in maldives) and the sea was just wonderful. Food was very very good and the last year eve was very nice organized with amazing food.

The resort is good (just a few rennovation works would be required) except for umbrellas beach that were just six for more than 120 rooms. It was not nice to wake up early in the morning to run to take one of the six available umbrellas before 8am which you definitively need if you have kids.

In short, everything at Amari is great! Specifically: - Island is of moderate size and VERY green with rich vegetation. The island is well maintained in all aspects - Home reef is exceptional. What you can find at Amari reef is roughly the same as what you often get at special snorkeling excursions by boat in other hotels. We saw a giant turtle, lots of sharks (all cute & not dangerous!), a stingray and of course a variety of “common” species daily. It is worth noting that swimming skills at this reef are required - you don’t need to be an Olympic champion, but need to be a confident swimmer for snorkeling around the most interesting parts of the reef. - All personnel is super nice and responsive. Special thank you to Ayaz who was in touch with us on all matters over our stay! - The villas are modern and spacious - nothing to complain about at all - The food is very good! No haute cuisine and complex dishes, but everything available is fresh and tasty; the variety is good as well. The Iru bar is a very nice place to enjoy the sunset with a glass of Prosecco :) - SPA experience is superb! Not cheap, but worth it! - We were at Amari over the Christmas-New Year break and the hotel really invested a lot in making these days special. There were theme parties, some special festive activities, small gifts for the guests. We really felt warmly welcomed at Amari - All in all, very good value for money compared to other Maldives hotels (this was not my first time at the Maldives). THANK YOU to the entire Amari team!!!

As inevitable evil, the logistics to Amari is not the simplest one. Comparing to the hotels reachable from Male by boat, one-way logistics will take 4-5 hours more (wait time for domestic flight, flight itself, boat to get to Amari). This road is worth it if you are going for 7+ days and probably not worth it if you have something like extended weekend trip. As noted above, Amari is a great place and I highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation!
