Valletta Collection - St. Domenic Duplex

A lot! The apartment is airy, clean, comfy and large. The location is perfect, right on the edge of the action but quiet enough to relax and chill out. You'll arrive through the big blue doors and arrive in the kitchen/diner. We didn't cook during our stay as there are so many bars, cafes and restaurants in Valletta right on the apartments doorstep, but the kitchen had everything you may need if you're doing more self catering. Everything you'd expect including: coffee machine, kettle, toaster, large fridge/freezer, oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, recently fitted kitchen and dining area for four. Upstairs (take it easy on the stairs they're a long flight due to the high ceilings in the traditional Maltese properties), there is a light and airy large living space with TV, WiFi, sofa bed and the cute Maltese balcony with cushioned seats. The bedroom is quiet and again quite large with some interesting nooks and crannies, plenty of storage and a large comfortable bed. The bathroom again is a large space with huge walk-in rain shower (note the hot water is on a heater, not constant supply, we never had a problem but there were only two of us). We settled in really quickly, it's comfy and airy and quickly became a home from home. The location is brilliant! We didn't really know what to expect and didn't know much about Valletta or Malta before our visit, but will definitely be going back. We had no idea how close we'd be to everything staying here, but just enough on the edge of the action, so it was quiet and relaxing at the same time.

Not a lot to say here really. There was a slight issue with the a little leak from the water heater but we reported this, and Emilija was very helpful, so if you have any problems report them the communication was very good. There is a bit of a damp smell on occasion in the bathroom, but it's a very old building with very thick walls and no window to air this particular room, so not a surprise, we just left fan on a little longer after showering and left the door open for air flow in the day. It's really a non-issue. There is a previous review that makes a big deal about the damp smell, we'd definitely say it blows it out of proportion. The stairs are just worth a note if you're not so steady on your feet or have small children (or enjoy too many of the local cocktail bars), open tread and very high due to the style of building with its high ceilings. Just take it steady.

Strong smell of damp in entrance room/kitchen. Shower leaks. TV is connected to You Tube, Spotify, Netflix etc. but couldn't connect to terrestrial channels. Some of the lights not working.

I encountered difficulties obtaining an invoice through Booking.com because they concealed the VAT information. This led to a delay in payment to the property owner, and in response, the owner employed delaying tactics when it came to providing the invoice, further complicating the matter. The lack of transparency and communication between the booking platform and the property owner created an unfortunate experience for me as a guest.

The room was gorgeous. The photos have no difference with the reality. Emilija was amazing and incredibly helpful in all phases of our stay. Even in some difficulties that arose he was there to solve and help. Also, incredibly kind cleaning guys. We had a wonderful time!

Freshly renowated and fully equipped apartment. Centrally located. Kitchen on the ground floor. Big light living room, comfortable big bed in the bedroom, nice shower. Cute gallarija, you can sit on a pillow and watch the street.
