"Good place to stay but bring your own pillows"

7.0

Location was perfect for York with bus stops into the city just a few minutes walk away and a park and ride just 5 minutes drive. huge house with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, dining room large enough for people to sit around the table, conservatory and enormous well equipped kitchen

Beds were comfortable but the pillows were very uncomfortable. Suggest you bring your own. House had been stripped of any and all pictures, ornaments etc leaving it feeling quite spartan.

"Fine for one night but I am glad we weren't there for long."

6.0

Location is great, nice quiet walk to the main road to catch the local bus into the city. Nice parking and quiet residential street. Good sized property and rooms with clean bedding.

The property lacks soft furnishings and decor which makes a house feel welcoming. There are no lamps in the lounge or bedrooms. The sofa is dated and uncomfortable. The bedroom door to the attic rooms doesn't close properly. The beds had only one pillow per person and the towels, albeit fresh and white, are really quite small! There are some odd furniture choices throughout, with trestle tables in some of the bedrooms and hallways and a random computer desk in the corner of the lounge. The home was generally clean. Several empty toiletry bottles in the main shower room that need recycled. The floor could do with a deep clean. A large cafetiere and coffee would be a nice simple touch too.

"Nice comfy place for family stay"

Nice big place for 8 people. Located in a quite neighborhood close to parks. Shops and restaurants were short drive away. Good space, clean with all required equipments Easy to access

Beds were slightly small for taller people. Other than that no issues

"A well positioned, but ultimately neglected house."

2.0

The property is in a good location, close to a supermarket and a good bus route into town, which takes about 30 minutes. The area was quiet and the house had a garden. The beds were clean and comfortable. Some of our group did not like the memory foam pillows, but there was no alternative.

The house has been very neglected over time. It was tired and had various issues requiring attention. There was a freestanding basketball hoop, in the rear garden. We had to place this on its side due to it being broken and precariously leaning to one side. We could not move it as it was too heavy. There was only 1 plastic wine glass in the kitchen cupboards. We resorted to buying our own from the nearby Tesco. There was no corkscrew, tin opener or bottle opener…basic utensils for a well stocked kitchen. The entrance hall was worn and did not feel welcoming. The radiator in the downstairs bathroom was rusty. The small side table in the dining area was propped against a wall as one of the 4 legs was detached from the table. We could not open the doors of the conservatory onto the rear patio. We had to clean the patio/garden furniture before use. One of the chairs in the conservatory had exposed nails where it had become detached from the frame. There was an exposed tv aerial wire in the kitchen. There light fitting in the room leading to the attic had been left with exposed fittings to the ceiling. There were further signs of neglect inside the house….cobwebs and general neglect. The house did not feel as though it was furnished with comfort and style in mind.

Lovely house, great kitchen. Nice to sit in the garden. Towels were provided (I was concerned as not mentioned) Huge Tesco nearby (15min walk) and there is a shopping trolley. (I know because we replaced it as it broke on our way back) Amazing bathroom, huge, great shower.

Couldn't open the conservatory door. Some of the rooms had odd tables (like pop up ones) but all ok. Some of my group said the pillows not comfortable but I was ok. Quite far from town, we got a bus, then taxis but as 7 of us needed 2. The big taxi wasn't available on the Sunday! Had a bad experience with Deliveroo but apparently there's a takeaway quite close. Would be helpful to have a menu etc in the house.

"good pick"

4 of us used it as a base for 2 nights when walking the Ebor way . A lot better value than staying in a hotel. There was a washing machine to clean clothes but no drier or washing line so we had to use the conservatory to dry the clothes. Kitchen had plenty of utensils etc. for us to make our own breakfast. Well placed for the race course or getting into the city. Wouldn't describe it as luxurious but comfortable enough to use as a base . The owner responded quickly to my queries .

"We had a lovely 30 year reunion. Exactly what we needed"

8.0

Spacious, lovely area. Very comfortable beds. Good showers. Nice bedding.

Curtains lacking hooks. Conservative door unable to unlock. Whilst on the surface clean under back bedroom bed not clean, glass table top and inside windows could do with a clean. Could do with a few pictures hooks but no pictures.
