Coconut Residence & Spa

I liked the way i was received by Hawa. I also liked the prompt response of the staff when I needed an iron and extra towels or water that i needed to buy. I find the chauffeur service to be outstanding. Samba was excellent in his duties.

I didn't like the quality of the iron. I also didn't like the noise of daily works going on, but I do understand that it was not a permanent situation

Staff were lovely every one of them. I found bed very comfy slept really well during my stay. Cleaners came in everyday. Food at the hotel really good.

Was not quite 5 star as i know it. Sun loungers could do with a clean.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms in the grounds were spacious and clean with a lovely patio area.

Some facilities were unavailable like the coffee shop. On the menu many items were unavailable although the pizza we had was delicious.

A nice and cozy place

The staff could not have done more to make our stay memorable for all the right reasons. They even built ramps for my wheelchair before I arrived The hotel is not a 5 star on a European or American standard but by African standards it definitely is. The food on the whole was very good, though there were times when items were unavailable but there was always something else that was good on the menu. The pools were well tended and cleaned daily but they were freezing cold but if you brave the first 30 seconds they are so good when the temperature is in the mid - high 30s. The room was huge and the staff arranged comfortable seating outside so we could enjoy our evenings The housekeeping was fantastic and bathrobes and towels were soft and spotlessly white. Beds were changed a couple of times during the week and the cleaning solution used smells amazing. Air conditioning was quiet and very efficient. We had some special requests for excursions which the wonderful Awa organised for us to accommodate our needs and was very reasonable. From the moment we arrived until the staff could not be faulted. This was our first trip to Gambia and we will be returning to Coconut Residence and Spa.

The hotel is fairly close to the beach so over the weekend the music from the clubs and partying on the beach can go in until 3-4am. Earplugs help! The only small thing about the hotel is that some of the paths are narrow and windy for a wheelchair but they are doable with a little determination

From the minute I arrived the welcome was superb, the surroundings captivating and the room amazing. Fantastic views of grounds from balcony, excellent air conditioning and a very comfortable and clean room

Nothing it was amazing. I lived every minute I was there
