The White Horse, Rogate

Excellent place to stay when exploring chichester. Lovely old inn which has been tastefully restored to modern standards. We stayed for five days and were extremely happy with the room, food, bar and delicious breakfasts - it really could not have been better. The staff looked after us very well and it was all at a reasonable price. An easy drive into Chichester of about 30 mins. We will definitely be back!

Great overnight stay with a dinner in the restaurant. Charming old listed 16th century pub, recently renovated, but still with the old features. Now run very efficiently with great food in the restaurant and lovely bedrooms upstairs. A few low beams, so remember to duck your head now and then! Loved it all!!

No atmosphere …we were the only ones in the bar when we arrived at 9pm and wasn’t offered any food option We booked purely for the Goodwood Festival which starts early yet breakfast started at 8.30am and staff were not prepared to adjust the timings for those 4 days…yet were happy to double their room rates just for those 4 days. We booked at a rate of £115 via booking.com…(.this is all a stay here is worth (if that)). Only to be told there was a problem with the booking and that we would have to pay extra when we got there. We ended up paying £250 for a stay where there was no food on offer when we got there, no breakfast, the Tv in the room was only for streaming, the bed was dreadful..so hard I had no sleep and we had to see ourselves out in the morning by putting the key in a box and leave by the emergency exit ! Absolutely appalling service . When I questioned the extra amount (it was the hotels fault yet I had to pay for their error) the barman just got the card reader and popped another £135 on the card reader. And when I had asked how many people had been happy about paying so much more than what the room had been advertised for on booking.com I was told that about a third of customers had been happy ….unbeknown to me there were only 3 rooms at the hotel ! I was so upset by our stay , it was for my sons birthday to take him to Goodwood and the hotel costing £250 was such a huge cost and we got nothing for our money

All the staff were very friendly, helpful, polite,and professional. The preparation and presentation of our meals and drinks were exceptional and reasonable for the quality Ample free parking and very comfortable room

Loud voices could be heard from the bar from our bedroom above. Our room and the beds were adequate and very comfortable but I thought my booking described it as a king size de luxe room. I was expecting it to be larger from the photos

We paid a premium for the room as it was Goodwood Festival which is understandable however on arrival I was told breakfast didn’t start till 8:30 surely paying a premium for the stay the hotel would have realised that guest plan to leave early to miss the traffic?

Very limited

The rooms were spotlessly clean, modern but with an old world charm in keeping with the property. The staff were amazing, friendly, professional and fun. Nothing was too much trouble.
