Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure, Sure Hotel Collection

Geräumiges und sehr komfortables Zimmer! Eine Wohltat, wenn man nach der ersten Etappe des West Highland Way ankommt und sich richtig erholen kann.

Die schottische Herzlichkeit wurde beim Personal leider sehr vermisst.

Hotel staff were helpful, the bar staff were engaging. The food provided on Friday for the wedding party was good.

The hotel was stuffy and airless, the radiators in the corridors were hot. The hot breakfast was disappointing with regard to value for money and quality. Other hotels in the UK with a similar star rating or less and other budget hotels such as Premier Inn provide a far superior breakfast for far less, in particular Premier Inn who cook eggs to order: fried, scrambled, poached or boiled. The Buchannan Arms fried eggs looked OK but they were tough and over-cooked, to be honest they were largely inedible. Is anyone checking how many eggs are cooked and not eaten everyday - or just thrown away? Price of eggs and cost of cooking eggs, times cooked eggs thrown away or not eaten, times days of the year = £1000s wasted a year. The tatty scones were tough with a cold-fat oily after taste, hardly a good advert for traditional Scottish fare. The rest was OK.

The breakfast ran out very quickly as so many people were in early. There was a long delay in getting the cooked breakfast restocked.

J'ai passé une super nuit dans cet hôtel, une de mes étapes du West Highland Way. Le spa a été un vrai plus à la fin d'une grosse journée de randonnée. Le petit déj était parfait pour repartir en forme le lendemain pour continuer le WHW. Personnel très aimable, ma chambre était spacieuse et très confortable. Le spa/piscine est vraiment le plus gros atout de l'hôtel.
