GrandStay Hotel & Suites Ames

Easy to get to.

Television didn’t work,

Space was clean and the room was bigger than expected.

I did not like the bed nor the sleeper sofa.As both were very lumpy, but i'm not quite sure what to expect.Since it is a two star hotel.

Extremely dirty. Not kept up. Smelled like mold.

I liked that it wasn’t in the middle of town and everything was right down the road.

I didn’t like that we had to move rooms because the air conditioner wasn’t working and the room we moved to had soft spots in the floor

I liked the location, it was right by everything

Looking through the pictures it showed a hot tub, but we were disappointed when we showed up and found there wasn’t one. We were also told the apartment suite we booked had a personal balcony, but there was no way to get out there. On day 1 of our stay we went down for breakfast and there was absolutely nothing there and no staff in sight, I then had to use the front desk phone to call staff and then when he came out, all he did was fill up the waffle mix and left. Gave us no eggs or bacon that was supposed to be with the waffles. Staff was very rude when we asked for clean sheets for the pull out mattress, front desk man said “yeah you can come get them from the front desk” when we asked if he could bring them up he said “you can come down and get them”. Overall I had a very poor experience.

I was not impressed with the breakfast. The hotel was wonderful.

The milk was sour, they changed it. The bananas were so over ripe. The coffee was very weak with powdered creamer. These are simple things for the quality of the hotel, the breakfast did not match.
