Comfortable & Modern Double Room

The room was clean and the bed was realy confortable. It’s located à a realy quiet neighborhood and there are beautiful parks in the area :) Edwin is really nice and welcoming so I was realy happy to meet him :)

The room had a comfortable bed and plenty of furniture. It was attractively decorated and had a very homely feel. The views of the hills in the distance were enjoyable too. The gentleman whose house the room is in was very friendly and helpful.

The room could have been cleaner. There was coffee stains and spilt sugar on the coffee stand. There were black hairs on ;the bed sheets and pillows which I'm hoping were pet hairs. Shared family bathroom with no working lock. The Kettle had seen better days and had brown water in it. The owner was not expecting visitors so it was short notice and he didn't have time to clean thoroughly I guess. But if you are hiring a room out then you should be prepared in my opinion. Owner was friendly but it just wasn't for us so we did not stay the night.

It is exactly what is advertised - a double bed in a bedroom that is part of a family home. The host made me feel part of the family by sharing a bottle of red and some beers with me - I certainly felt at home! The seaside attractions are a ten minute walk away.

If you are looking for a place to stay where there is no interaction with the host family, this may not be the place for you. However, if you don't mind a little social interaction, then go for it!

Great price, friendly host, free on street parking, comfortable bed, close to Whitby town centre and the Cinder Track.

Uphill walking, staying in someone's house and weak shower.

The host was most welcoming and helpful, the room very basic but warm and comfortable enough for a couple of nights. No telly which is worth a mention.

Sadly my trip was met with circumstances that I don't think would normally occur, that being the hosts son staying. I went to bed at 9 the 1st night and was hoping to get off to sleep at 9.30pm. However the hosts son and girlfriend went in to next room and put their telly on quite loud, proceeded to talk till 1.30 am , pausing the telly at least every 15 minutes to go to the bathroom which had a really noisy fan when the light was on. They were up again at 3.30am then when my alarm went off at six he got up and stuck music on while in the shower. The telly volume did go down at 11pm but could still hear it. I just wish they had had some consideration for a paying guest . So I checked out after that first night and text the host to no reply. I spent the second night in my van and got a good night sleep despite the cold. The bathroom needs a good scrub down on the tiles, and bath to get rid of soap scum,and clean the tile grout. It also needs some bath mats as there was water all over the floor when I went in in the morning.

Really comfortable bed. Good location, 15 mins walk to town centre. Car parking good, free and close by. Good price.
