The Governor's House at The Tanyard, Boutique B&B

The location is very central with all sites and facilities within an easy 5 minute walk. The accommodation is on two floors with 12 steps up to each floor. Living room is well appointed with attention to matching accessories and a pleasant restful green colour scheme. The lounge has two, 3 seater settees in it and the 'dining' table is adequate for two people. The shower room + sink and toilet is off the living room. The shower is brilliant and the over head cistern for the loo is a blast from the past (in a good way). The bedroom - up 12 steps, is spacious and the four poster bed is large, stylish and comfortable. A continental breakfast is provided any time between 08.00 - 09.00hrs, delivered to the property, in our case by Rufus (owner). Both he and his wife Joanna were attentive without being intrusive, assisting us with places to visit. Lacock, is a quintessential English village owned, or should I say, under the guardianship of the National Trust. It is fascinating with the Abbey being the 'jewel in the crown'.

Provision of dish clothes to dry cups. Old property (but not by Lacock standards), demands shore footedness on the stairs. But all part of the charm.

Delightful place in a perfect location.

Unfortunately there was a problem with the heating because of power cuts earlier in the day. Our hosts put it right as quickly as possible.

The place is beautiful and very comfortable, with everything you would need. Complementary breakfast is delicious.

The air bnb is gorgeous, every detail thoughtfully considered and to a high standard. The breakfast delivery was also a lovely idea and was delicious. Clear instructions for check-in and great communication throughout. A lovely little stay!

Nothing - we didn’t get to use the courtyard as the weather was rubbish, but can imagine this would be lovely in the Summer or on a dry evening with the fire pit.

Clean and cosy. Good parking. Accommodating host. Comfy bed.

Steep steps between floors could be an issue for some. Need a curtain in the toilet / shower area that stays up.

The location is brilliant . Really quiet and next door to the Harry Potter landmark of the cottage where he was born ! We were greeted on arrival and made welcome . It's a short walk to The anchor where we had a really good dinner and admired all the Christmas lights . Lacock has very little in the way of street lights so it was even more magical at Christmas . The four poster bed was comfy and the little house was warm and cosy . Breakfast was brought to us at the time of our choosing , there's a very good coffee machine . Everything was clean and we have no complaints .

The stairs up to the living room and then another flight to the bedroom . This isn't a complaint as it's a quirky building but if you are a little unsteady in the night going down to the loo could be an issue !

Loved the bedroom with it's carefully chosen textiles, gorgeous. Extremely comfortable bed, wonderful pillows, lots of lighting in all the right places.Sooo quiet, slept really well. Loved the bathroom, super shower. Nice living space, warm and comfy for a winter's night. Thank you for Netflix, appreciated. The breakfast tray reflected Joanna's sophisticated esthetic, gorgeous silver pots for the jam and marmalade, hot out of the oven croissants, yogurt and fruits. Perfect.

I would give a 10 out of 10 if the two sofas were comfortable
