Private rooms in authentic apartment in Old town of Tunis, near Medina

The place got four rooms with a big common area and a well equipped kitchen. There is also a laundry machine. The owner Inés is very responsive and helpful. The location is in the new town and very close to the Medina.

Three rooms are a little too much to share one bathroom. Plan your time accordingly. The room has a window but it was facing the house wall and I couldn’t open it. We were in room No. 2 . In the room is a mosquito plug. Better use it.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed having a kitchen to make our own tea early in the morning, and to make our own breakfast. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen, which we didn’t use but it was a nice addition. The location was great - it was only 5 minutes from the Medina, and there was a good grocery store only a block away.

The apartment is up three flights of stairs which wasn’t an issue for us, but may be a consideration for some. Noise does echo in the building so loud conversations, especially in the stairwell, could be heard in our room.

There are small steps in the bathroom, I missed one and stubbed my toe. When I selected what I wanted in a hotel, I selected a private bathroom. I don't know how this room came up because it was a shared bathroom. I was extremely disappointed. Besides that, I didn't realize the apt. was renting out each room. I thought we had the entire apt. Then a person came in talking on her speaker phone loudly. And the mosquitos!!!

The property is really nice, it is clean and well laid out. Very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a supermarket a few meters away so you can do all your own cooking. Ines is a wonderful host, very kind and friendly and always available to help with any problem.

Beautiful apartment, looks just like in the photos! The host has great taste in furnishing and setting up the apartment to make the stay feel homely and cosy. The shared spaces are a good size - kitchen (including laundry), lounge, dining area - the host and other guests were really friendly about sharing food and meals if people wanted to. The kitchen is fully equipped, and includes various leftover foods from previous guests so you will likely only need to buy fresh food for yourself. The apartment is in a great location, just a few minutes walking distance to the marché central (central market - fresh food, deli, meats etc.) and medina. It's also only a few minutes walk to access the metro (light rail) and about 10 minutes walk to Gare de Tunis (train station for travel to other cities). There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants downstairs, so it's a lively area with plenty happening throughout the day - it felt safe walking around the area all day. The host is lovely - very fast to respond to messages and he visits the apartment often to say hi, work and fix things. On this trip I learnt how affordable and comfortable apartments are, and this stay is no exception. Highly recommend a stay here, don't go to a hotel!!

The only issue with the apartment is the shower, where the lovely rain showerhead tends to flood the bathroom as the drain doesn't drain water fast enough from the showerhead. The host responded quickly to fix the issue but I imagine it might happen quite often as it's a bathroom fixture/design issue.

Excellent local restaurants and medina close by

This is a very nice appartment, with a perfect location: close both to the medina and to the new town. We have only met Ines before departure, but communication through whatsapp with the hosts was very efficient during our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Tunis! The space was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The location was perfect, close to local markets and restaurants, yet quiet enough to unwind. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had a smooth check-in and a great experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tunis!
