The Old Guest House, Norbury Avenue

It was situated in a good area and easy to find. The room was ok size wise.

The room wasn't cleaned when I arrived. The bed was creaky and uncomfortable The bathroom door was a pain, space was a bit tight and the shelves were loose in the shower. Would have preferred a kettle and bits in my room rather than use the kitchen area.

Comfortable room with private bathroom, access to a well equipped kitchen.

Room has skylights, whilst good for natural light makes the room too bright early morning. Blinds may be useful. Room had a musty smell and was essential to have the window open and fan on. Bathroom would benefit from a toilet roll holder and a few hooks.

No key left in box, property did not respond to messages. Missed out on concert. All in all a very expensive trip to not receive anything of it. Wouldn’t recommend.

This trip was a mixed bag, it’s basic accommodation but you get your own private space. The host was very pleasant, the kitchen really nice (although the lid of the kettle is broken which is an accident waiting to happen), the shower is very powerful and hot, the bed is alright. The free toiletries was a nice touch and checkin was super easy

My main issue was the lack of wifi, there was none throughout my whole trip, the technician came to fix it but wasn’t able to and I wasn’t updated again. The room itself had a bit of a weird smell which, to be fair to the host, I think is from a previous guest but it didn’t matter if I left the window open all day it was still there. The other struggle was getting my suitcase there, it’s a bunch of loose paving slabs on gravel so if your bag is too heavy to lift it’s very annoying

Ceiling needed cleaning as had insects at window above. Other guests were loud and distracting often

Excellent place to relax and sleep. It had all the mod cons of a well known chain hotel but with a nice atmosphere so I felt comfortable being there and it was lovely and clean quiet and it even had a smart TV and free WiFi something the chain hotel down the road has failed on to . I would highly recommend staying here. It's worth the money and one last point it's also only a five minute walk from the station that connects you to London bridge.

It’s so far from central London and the transport in the area wasn’t reliable. It would be great if they make the rooms more accessible with luggage, like maybe adding a straight line of tiles from the side garden door to the rooms.
