Jacobite Lodge by The House of Danu

Location is perfect about a 20 to 25 minute walk into the local town and around a 20 minute drive from Aviemore. House and garden spacious, 10 of us spent the weekend comfortably without feeling we were on top of each other. Decor is very warm and homely and the house is well equipped. There was a heavy snow on the ground when we arrived although this thawed quickly when temperatures reached 6 and 7 degrees, we unfortunately experienced a frozen pipe on our second day meaning we had no running water the owner replied to us immediately after we had alerted him, so contact was excellent although nothing could be done other than wait it out. The water was still off when we left the following day.

The lack of water did cause slight disruption to our weekend but I would still return for a future stay

Had everything you needed, very clean and perfect for our stay.

We booked the property for the purpose of the hot tub and when we arrived at 5:30pm 2 & a half hours after check in the hot tub was cold and off, we turned it on and gave it a few hours but even then the temperature was 20.5 had 3 dissapoonted kids, there was no fire wood for the fire so couldn’t use that facility either, ruined our night, definitely not worth the money paid

The house and location were good.

Staff didn't resolve an issue we had and communication was poor.

The quirky house, the views, they've thought of everything that you could possibly need if your cooking your own meals and everything in the house to be honest has been well planned out. Plenty parking, lovely garden and outdoor space. Everything about the house and location is brilliant.

Hot tub could maybe do with being updated but that didn't faze us in the slightest.

We had no access code the contact number was void so we waited an hour and a quarter for access after getting the direct number from a disgruntled neighbour (problems with the owners for some time) The hot tub was disgusting and broken the filter looked years old and the fire pits and log burner hadn't wood as they didn't expect a booking and said it should have been delisted...although morethan happy to collect our money , owner offered 100 pounds refund which we refused as we never got access until 8pm and our disabledchild was unsettled and the hot tub we driven 250miles for our anniversary was non existent . Letdown by booking.com paypal informed us we should have gone through them for a full refund .
