The Elms Apartments

Stayed with two teen kids in 2026 Easter holidays and it looked like the place had been completely refreshed. The apartment is absolutely immaculate! New carpets and kitchen equipment. The gated private parking area is great, giving extra security. There were excellent instructions given out ahead of our arrival making this very stress-free. The kitchen is pretty well equipped (maybe a larger pan would be useful for family pasta cooking!). Apartment was also lovely and warm and the beds are very comfy. Great location and within walking distance of shops and town centre.

Couple of things could be improved. Firstly (and most significant) is that the apartment uses a 4G router for internet, instead of a traditional wired connection for streaming on the TV. The WiFi coverage is fine throughout the apartment but the particular mobile provider used provides terrible speed (I tested it about 1 to 2 Mbps) which means watching iPlayer just stutters all the time. Would appeal to owners to switch providers as many other guests have commented on this. Second maybe a few additional bits of information leaflets would be useful (tourist stuff like train timetables, few more attractions etc.) and housekeeping (like what bins are what) that are common in other self-catering properties we've stayed in.

Fantastic large apartment with everything you need

Some areas not super clean. Kitchen worktops had crumbs, dishwasher had cutlery and dishes left in it. Both bathrooms were dusty and around toilet, not cleaned very well

Accommodation was nicely decorated giving it a clean fresh appearance. Entrance and stairwells smelt lovely and were kept tidy. Plenty of parking available in a gated carpark.

The bed was a little too firm for my liking and the pillows needed to be replenished

Had a wonderful stay at this property! It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was great, and everything was well-maintained. The host was friendly and extremely accommodating, responsive, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!”
