Benwick Cottage - Beachfront Thatched Cottage set on the marine parade with absolutely spectacular Sea views! Sleeps 4

We have stayed at Benwick.cottage before and absolutely love it. The location is ideal and we love being able to pop into the beach from our front door.

The cottage was absolutely charming in an amazing location. It had everything we needed, was warm and comfortable and felt relaxing just to be in the property looking out across the bay. Towels were provided and there are 2 toilets - neither mentioned in the listing. The 'fireplace' was useful as it was cold we needed it, worth mentioning it is a stove style fan heater - we bought logs from home (didn't think about thatched roof risk element!). Loved it so much have booked again already.

If checkout was at 11, or even 10.30, it would be nice. Rubbish instructions confused me - wasn't sure if to leave outside or put in a padlocked bin - could not see purple sacks. Brought rubbish home - luckily was not much as only there 2 nights.

The cottage is in a great location, right on the seafront with relatively easy access out of season for loading and unloading. Lots of good eateries in close proximity and fantastic views.

The parking is seven minutes walk away, which would become an issue during an extended stay. While everything works at a functional level, the property could do with a light refresh. I am sure this would be less of an issue during the summer., when you spend more time outside. There is no independent heating in the bathroom, and the windows leaked during heavy rainfall.

The location was fantastic, we loved staying in Lyme Regis. The cottage was picture perfect and is true to its heritage listed state, quirky but oh so comfortable. The roll of the waves were wonderful to hear of a night and was an easy walk to the shops or restaurants. We also loved walking along the waterfront and searching for fossils, it was perfect for a family of 4.

Nothing, only that we didn't stay longer.

Very quaint and central location. Very well equipped with plenty of kitchen equipment and extra things such as beach accessories which would be great for a family.

Curious tourists literally peering through the windows!
