Lake District Woodland Pods - Winster, Bowness-on-Windermere

Location was good, short travel into Windermere. The restaurant on site provided good quality food and had friendly staff.

The clicking of the boiler/radiator kept us awake through the night. Coupled with a dog from another pod barking which was disturbing our dog. Found hair in the shower on arrival and evidence of damp throughout/overall cleanliness wasn’t great. Overall the pod was good for a short stay, 1-2 nights but probably wouldn’t stay any longer as we enjoy cooking food and the lodge didn’t have any facilities to do so. The dog friendly lodges may also benefit from having enclosed ‘decking areas’ to allow you to keep the doors open when it’s warm.

The location was brilliant and pods were really modern and spacious. The bed was really comfortable. The brown horse pub was great with amazing food

Only thing can fault is the check out time of 10am, and that’s being picky as the whole stay was brilliant

the location is nice and peaceful, it’s a well kept site. we stayed for a weekend and had a great experience. the pods are super cosy and well kept, the facilities are immaculate.

there was absolutely nothing we didn’t like, it was exactly what we expected and better.

Great quiet little place, abit further out from the busier towns if you like that and the pub on the site was fantastic, really enjoyed the food we had.

A fab pod in a quiet location. Great pub on site with lovely food. Nice extras, such as the dog treat box, clean towels, washing up liquid, tea/coffee/sugar and milk, nice hand soap/shampoo/body wash which was appreciated. Good wifi. A great sized pod.

It needed a little TLC but overall very good. The blinds were dirty and bits of black mould on them from the condensation on the windows. (And they weren't black out so hard to sleep). The decking needed a jet wash.

The pod was lovely to stay in. Plenty of space, nice facilities, everything you need. The pub is lovely, great food and friendly staff. Great walks on the doorstep, plenty of footpaths etc. The little welcome pack for the dog was a great touch, dog bowls provided and a little towel to dry off their paws. I stayed here on a solo trip and felt safe and at ease the entire stay.

Not so much a dislike but its a shame the dog friendly pods dont have any fencing around the decking keeping it enclosed. The pods do get warm and it would be lovely to open the doors and have an enclosed area to keep dogs safe.
