The Star Inn

Excellent location in a quiet village. Good accommodation with comfortable bed and excellent shower/bathroom. Good TV. I did not use the wifi but the signal was a bit patchy in my room.

I had been hoping to have dinner at the hotel after a long drive. I arrived at 1550 to be told that the kitchen is closed on a Monday and that I had been sent an email informing me of this. Indeed I had - at 1542. So instead of being able to relax I had to take a 30 minute drive to find a restaurant as the only alternative was take-away pizza 15 minutes away. However I found a good restaurant so that was some compensation. There was no mention of Monday kitchen closure on Booking.com or the hotel website as far as I could see.

Fantastic food, delicious, good quality, perfectly cooked and presented. all staff friendly and helpful and all areas clean. Brilliant.

It was a country pub in a lovely setting. The rooms had been renovated and were decorated to a high quality. The bed was comfortable and room was extremely clean. The en suite although small, was clean and good quality towels provided. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The inn was a very warm welcoming place to stay in a quiet and small village in East Yorkshire, the staff were all exceptionally helpful, but the location was still not far from my appointments on either day. My room was very well presented, clean and nicely appointed. The evening meal was excellent and very generous portions.

The only thing that slightly tinged the stay was an issue with the heating in my room but the staff were very proactive in sorting that out quickly.

Lots of character, spotlessly clean nothing was too much trouble. The room was like new & really comfortable Would definitely recommend & stay here again if we’re in the area.
