The Old Smithy Inn

Location was great, even if a little remote which could be plus point or not depending on your point of view. Breakfast really good, served by a friendly, helpfull and cheerfull lady. Quite an atmospheric old pub with a lovely garden.

We stayed in "The Nook," which is an outbuilding at the end of the garden. Cosy and peaceful but unfortunately the wifi did not work in the this room (it did work in the pub garden) and the tv would only receive limited channels, sometimes none. So would seek an alternative room in the main building if we stayed again.Ate in the pub one evening, meal was average and quite pricey for what it was. And the wine was £9 for a glass!

Food was excellent and very quiet location

Took nearly 90 minutes to get food. Area outside extremely slippery. I ended up at the hospital from a fall there this morning

the location of the room at the end of the beer garden was not clear from booking.com. However the room was quiet and comfortable with a great view

What we didn’t like most of all was the fact that nobody told us beforehand that very loud terrible music organised by the pub would be playing outside very close to where we slept till 11pm. This should be a requirement. If we had known we would not have stayed there. The accommodation itself was okay but quite claustrophobic and cramped. The wifi did not work at all in the Nook room we stayed in and there was no 4g/5g.

The Nook was so cosy and comfortable. Perfect location. The food at the Old Smithy Inn was delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. We would highly recommend a stay and/or meal and will definitely return.
