The Old Smithy Inn

Warm welcome when I arrived. Made me feel comfortable being a solo traveller and were brilliant at ensuring I could stay for food and order around allergies. Room was warm, cosy and comfortable and the Breakfast in the morning was really good, hot and set me up for the day

Only a small thing, going for breakfast the door to enter from outside wasn't signed so I wasn't sure if I should go in or not!

Lovely old thatched country pub, gorgeous inside and out. Near enough to the coast path for walkers to use. Good bedroom in annexe.

Unfortunately no WiFi, internet and therefore no TV in the bedroom. No one seemed to have any idea how to solve the problem. We were in the far bedroom, Marsland. Also while we both enjoyed the fish and chips, it upset our stomachs for the next 24 hours, not sure why.

Nous nous attendions à être dans la partie originale de l’établissement. Nous étions dans un bungalow extérieur joli mais moins charmant

Lovely location, good breakfast and pleasant morning staff

Unhelpful bar staff member, no internet even though advertised as having on booking.com, no mobile signal inside bedroom, TV stopped working and poor drainage in sink.

Not very good maintenance

Nach einer abenteuerlichen Reise haben wir das Old Smithy Inn gefunden und wurden wärmstens empfangen. Unser kleines Zimmer war schön warm - sogar mit Bodenheizung! Wir genossen sowohl ein köstliches Abendessen als auch ein reichhaltiges Frühstück, bei dem wir sogar noch Musik aus unserer Jugend vom Plattenspieler hören durften. Die Lebensmittel werden von den regionalen Farmern bezogen und waren entsprechend frisch. Strassenbahnlärm gibt es dort garantiert nicht, liegt es doch mitten in der Natur. Am Abend treffen sich die Einheimischen im Pub. Die Eigentümerin erzählte uns die Geschichte der Schmiede aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Es ist eine sehr schöne Erfahrung, in einem so geschichtsträchtigen Haus übernachtet haben zu dürfen. Wir können das Old Smithy Inn nur wärmstens empfehlen. 12 von 10 Punkten!
