The Old Smithy Inn

What a great find. A lovely authentic thatched Devon pub with good beer and food. The host, Tanya, was delightful and made you feel very welcome. The room was quirky in a very well styled way. Would highly recommend.

We was looking for quiet and relaxing and it was perfect for that. Lovely to have our own decking.

Even tho we had WiFi it didn’t work (some might find this a luxury lol)

Staff were excellent! Singer that night was awesome!

Food menu limited. My food was awful, the fish was stale, batter really thick and overdone. We were overcharged. Breakfast was ok. Dog waste in beer garden. Very tired premises and accommodation. Wifi in accommodation was non existent and TV didn't work.

pies where great, basic pub grub, nothing like streak and chip for a special occasion. in the middle off nowhere, very quiet in september, may be very busy in summer months.

depending who was on in the bar your food order could take over a hour.

The Old Smithy Inn had a lovely country feel inside with a wood fire. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was amazing. We stayed in Marsland. Room was lovely, clean and just what we wanted.

We did not dislike anything.
