Little Dockray Two-Bedroom Apartment Centre of Penrith

The area was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring Penrith x

The bathroom being at the top of the stairs and in a bedroom - it is just as well we were family staying but I could see it being very awkward for couples/friends. The stairs up to the apartment were very narrow and steep - we wouldn't have booked it for that alone had we known. The 1st bedroom is awful, cracks everywhere, water patches, a terrible bed and a window which wouldn't close fully. A stretched cable for a lamp which was highly dangerous. Both the sitting room and 1st bedroom window are obviously original which is lovely but not sound proof and were so filthy we couldn't see anything. There was rice on the sitting room floor which we hadn't had. The blankets in the basket are not fresh and nor was the bedding on the 1st bed. The other bedding was lovely. It was very poor and sadly we would never return. The stairs and bathroom need to be pointed out before people book. It is also £4.60 for the carpark, £1 more than stated on Booking.com and £2 more than in the welcome folder. The whole apartment needs attention. Very disappointed.

Location was great, facilities very good, ease of access and value for money

The noise from people coming out of the pubs and the gulls in the night. Would have liked a slightly earlier check in than 4 pm

Everything was placed properly specially kitchen stuff , I found even cooking oil and salt 🧂 in the cupboard . Bedding was fine ! I am grateful that I have been guided by host with regards to the parking and that has made a big difference for a stranger in the town so thank you 🙏

The host was really clear in instructing check in, making it super simple for us. Lovely apartment situated in the centre of Penrith, location was great. Apartment was as expected, and the whole booking process easy.

The apartment was in a good central location.

The apartment was filthy, was hairs all over the bed and bathroom, was bugs in the bed, filth everywhere, marks all over the walls. There was actually blood and scabs in the bed! It is nothing like what is shown on booking.com. The entrance is a mouldy, smelly alley that was absolutely grim. Even windows were cracked, the place was bordering on dilapidated. There is also no hot water, so you can't get properly showered after a day out exploring. We complained to the owner, he offered no cleaning service, no clean bedsheets or cleaning equipment and just left us in the mess. We requested a refund and he just blanked us and disappeared. Booking.com just basically said it was nothing to do with them, even though it was them we used to book it, and washed their hands of it - basically passed the buck and said we should contact the owner, who has blatantly blanked us. My advice is don't use either company to book, both useless, unfair and untrustworthy. I expected better, far better. 0/10 for the apartment, 0/10 for booking.com customer service. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Lovely apartment. Right in the heart of the town centre.

No hot water after the first night. In should have messaged the owner but didnt. Also I hadnt read the fact you need to park in the local supermarket. Again probably my fault for not reading the details. Also had trouble with getting a ticket for the parking as you have to phone/text/download the app.
