The Kings Head Inn

Almost everything. Great service, nice staff, clean, comfortable, good food, great for the price.

Car parking was limited in space (thankfully on MCs which made it possible but otherwise we'd have had to park elsewhere). Floors in bedrooms particularly creaky - can't move about quietly.

Location...

Upon booking, we were not notified that there would be loud music and partying, going on past 11pm that you could hear and feel in the walls and floors across the building. I can appreciate an event going on, but when people book a room, pre warning them that there would be loud music and very busy till late would have been better than turning up to, well that, especially as we had been driving for over 5 hours and really just wanted to rest... Checking in was hit and miss, the lad checking us in seemed like he was out of his depth and more interested in the party, he didnt say where our room was, and just handed us a breakfast form to fill and said fill in now or you cant get breakfast. We asked about parking as the designatedparking wwas pretty full and we were concerned about blocking someone in, but they didnt seem to care and just said to pull inbetween the outdoor seating which seemed wierd and off. Found it difficult to work out who were staff and who weren't as so many people were going back and fourth behind the reception to charge phones and get drinks. This was all made more difficult as the music was so loud, that even trying to talk to actual staff, you had to literally shout... After finding the room, we were instantly disappointed as I requested a double, for a couple, and it was 2 singles that when pushed together, moved apart really easily, thete was no TV, very poor WiFi, no sockets anywhere near the bed so had to charge phones the other side of the room, light switches that didnt seem to do anything, stale air as no one left a window open not even vented, considering its an old building and a coldish damp day, very limited consumables (coffee, tea, soap, etc), compared to other places of same style and price. Beds were basic, nothing special. Bathroom felt cold and looks like it could have done with a slightly better clean in places.

MUSIC PLAYING UNTIL 11.30 AT NIGHT VERY LOUD AND THUMPING ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE HOTEL AND OUTSIDE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SLEEP ,SHOWER NOT VERY WARM AND BREAKFAST SMALL

Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful but we didn't interact too much as we arrived quite late.

Late night music, but it was silent after 11.30pm. Shower was a bit weak.
