House - Alton Towers,Peak District,Wildlife Park

It was in a good location, very close to the Peak District national park and Wildlife Park.

The bathroom lock was broken. The makeshift lock fell off and we had to screw it back in a couple of times. The gas hob was broken; we had to use a lighter to light it. It's too expensive for what you get. We'd originally booked elsewhere for cheaper but thanks to a same day cancellation had to find somewhere last minute. Finally, there is an unpleasant neighbour. He blanked me any time I tried to speak to him, even when I was just saying "Good morning" and he filmed us when we were in the garden. As a result of this, we left early as we felt uncomfortable.

Location is ideal, close to town centre but quiet street, no problem parking and supermarket round the corner. The house is cute and has lots of character

The listing needs updating, we picked this house over another one on the basis it had proper fire/stove but it doesn’t. It also needs more information at the property, it took us ages to figure out how to adjust the heating and also to get on the WiFi, most places have a little welcome book with info like that.

Excellent house to stay in. We was only there for 1 night but was exactly what we needed

Cleanliness left a lot to be desired, needs a good deep clean. The stairs are very steep but nothing they can do about that. Property is dated but comfortable enough for one evening

It was very central, the town was approximately a 5 minute walk. There is limited parking outside the property but we always seemed to find one on the road. If not you could park in a car park at the bottom of the road for a very small fee. The beds were very comfortable and we found the house very clean, although other reviews suggest otherwise. Very good location if you are looking to go to Alton towers but want to be able to do something else whilst you stay in the area. We would definitely return again. Locals were very friendly.

The stairs were very steep. I was fine with hat but felt I needed to keep the landing light on at night because I have two children and if they needed to use the toilet (which is downstairs) during the night then they may fall down them.
