Whitby Boutique - Mast Cottage

The cottage is ideally situated, once you can actually find it! For anyone else looking for it: you need to take the alleyway off St Anne’s Staith to get to the cottage. Decor is modern and they’ve tried to make a good use of the space available. Overall the property was very clean, good options of utensils etc within kitchen cupboards too.

Paying over £1200 for two nights for a property with a hot tub and then not being able to use said hot tub was incredibly frustrating. The hot tub was not turned on when we arrived and thus never actually made it up to optimum temperature all weekend. 2 of our guests did try and have a dip but didn’t last long due to the fact the tub was about 34 degrees when we got there. The bottom of the hot tub was also filthy and covered in what appeared to be sludgy sand. We went nowhere near the beach on our rainy weekend, however our bins were full of buckets and spades so I’m assuming this was from the previous guests. The hot tub settings also indicated it was over due a clean - and since we own hot tubs we know this is 3 months!! The bed sheets in the second bedroom were unfortunately extremely foisty. They had not been laundered and dried properly. This smell was so poignant it made for uncomfortable sleeping and transferred on to guests bed clothes and hair. Real shame because they said the bed was very comfortable. The neighbours must also be fed up with this being a rented house because they were very hostile even when warm greetings were offered from our side. Beyond that, this house is not ideally made for 6 adults, there is only one bathroom. Not the owners faults but it proved a nightmare for us trying to get ready.

A very attractive cottage in the heart of Whitby , yet you had your own peace and quiet. Having a back garden that gets the sun and a hot tub was the icing on the cake.

nice decor good bath nice shower hot tub /outside area lovely comfortable beds (I slept so well being away) kitchen had everything you would need easy check in and out got parked easily and free parking with passes good communication from owner

Location was fantastic right in the middle of everything, garden and hot tub was beautiful, deco was beautiful right throughout the cottage and the bathroom , wow 🤩

That I didn’t get to stay longer 🙁

beautiful, lovely decor. cosy beds, great kitchen and living area. shower was fab and also the hot tub. perfect location for anything in and around Whitby.

we didn’t get sent the key safe code prior to arrival and couldn’t get through on the phone so were held up a while trying to get in. same with the parking pass, it had been forgotten but we got one in the end. no toiletries were provided even though description stated they would be. one toilet roll for a house that sleeps 6 was really stingy!
