GrandStay Hotel & Suites Valley City

DOG PEOPLE BEWARE. I specifically booked a pet room & specifically stated that I was traveling with my dog and would like a first-floor room. Confirmation emails from the hotel stated that "the total for your stay is USD $XXX." and “We got you assigned to a first-floor room.” Great. No mention of the dog, but they had obviously read my message. That day I drove 800 miles solo, and, since the room was prepaid, looked forward to just picking up a key. But when I arrived, I was told to pay an ADDITIONAL $25 pet fee. This fee wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the booking site or the hotel's own website, or in the confirmation emails. I pushed back, but did not have the energy to argue. Since the room was prepaid – no refunds – I was stuck. Terrible service, terrible communication, maddening lack of consideration or accountability.
