Great location. Good parking. Good communication from the host.

Not particularly clean, the oven is old and took a long time to cook anything. Just needs modernisation really however some people might like the authenticity of it.

"We had a beautiful few days here, walking distance to centre of Hay on Wye, with book shops galore!"

Location superb; friendly and helpful host; stunning old building with a feel of the past :)

Can be tricky getting out of bed on the wall side! ;)

The owner was responsive and the location was great. Appreciated having a full usable kitchen, and a washer, and a whole apartment.

The main problem is that the house has a problem with damp, and then underneath that, there is mold as well. *Really* strong smell. I was in a flood in Texas and I know those smells. This is not the damp of an old house. This is actually in the realm of unhealthy, I would say. I stayed because I was too tired to find another place. I'm staying now at an old hotel for the same rate - with much less space, but *much* more comfort, and realize how unhealthy it is to breathe damp and mold. I don't think it's rentable as is. If the damp and mold were fixed, it would be a decent property - especially because of the location.

"Lovely weekend break in an old house in Hay"

8.0

We loved the location - right in the middle of Hay and with a parking space too! Perfect! We didn’t use the car all weekend and just walked everywhere. Highly recommend getting a takeaway from the conservative club and eating it at the house! Portions were huge and food was delicious. The house is very old and quirky, full of character!

"We had a good stay and a good time in Hay."

9.0

The location was perfect, very central and quiet. The host, Tamara, had let me know that she would not be in the area during my stay and, true to her word, she was extremely accessible and responsive on the two occasions that I needed to contact her. When the weather was good sitting on the window seat in the sunshine with a glass of wine was very relaxing and there was an extremely efficient and easy to light log burner for chilly evenings. Thank you Tamara

The only slight problem was that we had some trouble finding the apartment. Not Tamara's fault, the house numbering in Lion Street is imaginative to say the least. I would recommend that visitors head to the Conservative Club (if it is still there after 4th July of course) and with their back to the Club turn right and, bingo, Half Moon House will appear.

It was really central and close to shops/cafes etc. Great recommendations from host of what to see/where to eat. Really appreciated the parking space and quirkiness of the property.
