The Red Lion

It's a lovely pub with a supportive local community. The houses and church around it are so nice with loads of historic buildings, it's a great place for a walk! The bed was comfy and there was a music act on the day which was very good. I had a lovely time.

The decor looked good.

The manager Annabel although initially accommodating was really rude. When asking for basic things it always felt like a chore. The kitchen wasn’t open when I arrived, however they kindly had someone cook. However, they charged me £17 for a burger, that took over an hour to make and didn’t come with anything else. The heating was broken and it was freezing all night. I appreciate the heater provided but it was very loud.

The Red Lion is a beautiful pub in a very pretty village. We stayed for two nights to attend a family wedding. Our rooms were very comfortable. We had dinner on our first night and loved the Ukrainian food. The owners and staff were all very welcoming and helpful.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, as it’s a busy and popular pub, we found it noisy on the Friday night. After closing time, the noise continued outside until about 1am. It was much quieter on the Saturday night however. We were grateful for the breakfast hamper, but feel a savoury pastry option would have been good. It was all quite sweet!

Great place to stay, the landlady was very welcoming, the room lovely and comfortable. Lovely food too.

Colleague and I stayed for 1 night for work purposes, would happily have stayed here all week. Exceptional accomadation and food, staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and hope to stay here again soon.

Great location, picturesque setting

Not informed on arrival that there would be no breakfast the following morning. Arose to a ‘Marie Celeste’ of a hotel, all the restaurant was locked up. The radiators did not work during the night. Only the bedroom radiator worked in the morning. There was a hole in the bathroom wall The shower plug hole was blocked, so the shower tray filled with scum whist showering to I needed to wash my feet separately . There was no coffee sachets The bathroom ceiling was cracked with Iain flaking off. There was no evening food being served ? So left to eat elsewhere, yet when we returned everyone was tucking into ‘just cooked’ fries . The tv remote batteries were dead.
