La Torretta - Authentic Historic House with Panoramic Sea-View Terrace in Otranto Old Town - Marea Stays Collection

What a great property, and so well located. The place is huge, and everything is at your fingertips. The rooftop terrace is enormous and has an outstanding view of the harbour. Right in the middle of Otranto, this property is whisper quiet and so private!

My only negative would that the shower setup is not ideal.

Property is located in Otranto old city center in a building that looked like it was carved in stone. Has a very nice terrace where you can enjoy a late night drink or your morning coffee.

Nothing that the owners can change: one of the bedrooms is located at street level and in the night can be a little noisy with tourists passing by very close to your window.

The location of this house is much better than seen from the pictures and description. It is an amazing place to stay for a vacation. The house is an old stone house with very thick walls and many stairs, but it is very charming and really something different. I would really like to stay there again.

Due to the tick walls, wifi did not work in the kitchen or the top floor. Please also note that there is a limit to how much electricity you can use at the same time, without it blocking out.

Great location and character, very big with rooftop view.

The shower set up was difficult. Shower so small with curtain that the bathroom floods. Second bathroom has a tub no stand up shower.

La Torreta was probably the best property we have ever stayed at (we're in our late 50s). The location is perfect- in a quiet square opposite an ancient church, but within seconds walk of all attractions, and the staggeringly warm and clear sea. The roof terrace is large and gives views to the sea on two sides, and to the castle on the third. The living room, kitchen and main bedroom were well appointed and lovely. It felt special throughout- a real find, and even nicer than the photos suggest. Gregory the host is attentive and responsive.

Arrival (by car) was confusing and a little stressful- the centre is essentially pedestrianised, and it took a little while to work out where we could park. In fact there's a drop-off point to take your bags to the house, and then you nip back down the hill to a car part (€10 per 24 hrs). All simple when you know.

In the heart of Otranto, very nice terrace, very spacious. 2 bedroom/2 bathroom.
