The Bell Inn

Lovely location, comfortable room and great food.

The pub was very quaint. Lots of little snug areas. The room we stayed in was lovely! Very clean and had everything you needed. Loved the soft white towels! Food was very good! Especially the breakfast. Good selection and cooked fresh! So nice and hot.

There wasn’t anything about the property we didn’t like! If we were to say anything, then maybe the approach road to the car park could have been better if it was resurfaced, as there were lots of holes/puddles.

Staff were outstanding. Nice, cosy pub with great food. Location excellent, especially with the boat across to Southwold side. Parking onsite. Very close to beach. Great beer garden.

Just needed a minibar and safe in the room and it would’ve been 10/10

Friendly staff lovely decor room

Ground d floor room, woman Alone, people playing boules outside my winDow 7.30pm! Requested staff to ask them to move away as were drinking and loud… Then one of the men came right up to window stared in twice! Intimating me I’m 68! Very worried and reported to Tom at the bar. Terrible behaviour. Tom said he would discount the room, but realised I’d pain by booking.com! Please pass a discount on to me asap. I would never stay in that ground floor room again as backs out to a secluded area, open to people abusing it. Thanks you

Character and location

Lovely characterful pub, great food, friendly staff.

Breakfast is quite late between 9-10. I had to leave by 8 so nothing available.

Way more than I needed; solid good English breakfast.

Room is a bit tight.

Picture postcard location a short distance to the passenger ferry towards Southwold, the beach and a few shops. We had room 3, low ceiling with beams a large window and a lovely view towards the river, very comfortable bed Good breakfast cooked to order. Great pub lots of cosy corners...Easy flat walking for miles beside the river Blythe. You can cross where there was once a railway bridge if you wish.

It didn't bother us much but there was some black mould in the shower and the bathroom window had clear glass next to a walkway so that we had to keep the blind lowered. Remember it is an old building.
