A woodland retreat - Apartment in converted mill

The serenity of the location although it was rather difficult to find due to lack of signage.

An explanation of how to turn on lights and appliances. As a foreigner I was not familiar with the outlet switch system. Kitchen supplies and dishes rather sparse. Only one roll of toilet paper available. No information on where to go, eat, hike, swim etc. Only one towel in the bathroom.

One of the worst nights sleep I have ever had. The plumbing when used by the occupants of the flat above is so noisy it was impossible to sleep more than 3 hours Every single time the taps are turned on, the toilet flushed and the shower used the noise is excessive, especially if like me you were in the room with two single beds. You can hear the conversations and footsteps of the flat above's occupants, (who were not being noisy, just normal). The fact that 3 of the 4 of them were showering after midnight and the other at 5.30am meant that after having driven 8 hours to get to Helston and with the prospect of driving the same ,later that day following a family funeral I really needed to sleep but that simple pleasure was denied by the plumbing and lack of sound insulation

Quaint location, easy travel to places.

Adequate for our needs.

Quirky apartment, lovely size, plenty of space for a family getaway. Rooms all a really good size. Had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Would happily stay again for longer. Sheets were clean, the apartment was clean. Very good value for money.

2 minor gripes, The turning for the road leading to the property can only be taken if coming down the hill. Which usually wouldn't be an issue, but due to a lot of parked cars,(probably because of the time of night we arrived) doing a u turn/ 3 point turn proved a bit difficult. Both double beds were a little tired.

Great location, easy walk into town. Basic facilities, but very clean and well heated. Could do with a little updating/decoration, but good value at the price we paid.

It's in a nice location, it's tucked away in a quiet area, the instructions to the place are easy to follow. It had plenty of space for us all. Good selection of cleaning products, towels. Good communication from the owners always replied. If noise and kitchen doesn't bother you I do recommend going.

Their were a few niggles, but not the owners fault it's more the cleaners. The apartment was clean in all areas but the kitchen, fridge needs replacing grease down the oven window and cupboards have a bit of rust. Cobwebs too. And we felt we couldn't eat or prepare food in the kitchen , ate out and didn't use the utensils or glasses. Also was an opened jar of coffee, no tea, and the sugar was in an opened bag with a spoon in.But did really make us feel uncomfortable. The noise from downstairs was horrendous if your a light sleeper not ideal young children screaming at all hours. But above was quiet. No plug for the bath, which was disappointing but could use the shower.
