Seraph House, York

location was great communication with owner was fantastic everything you need was there lovely roll top bath

as previous reviews state single beds creak when you turn and too low ok for children I guess while mattresses are comfy the beds themselves are too low There's no where to sit comfortably to watch tv as 4 adults the only place we could sit and chat was at dining room table very minimal in every room which works but missing a few homely touches in my opinion shower curtain also needs replacing no blinds in bathroom so while in shower if you open window neighbours opposite can see straight in

Location just a 20 minute walk to the centre, plenty of space in the property with street side parking.

Sofa bed as a couch a little uncomfortable

This self-catering holiday house is in a quiet street walking distance, over a high footbridge, from York Station. Paid on-street parking is available via host Cornelia, who was obliging.

The main bed mattress is very soft and its sides provide no support whatsoever. I’m pretty fit and I almost fell out of bed when I moved closer to the edge. My wife (less fit) had to swing her legs around to touch the floor before she was game to stand up. The 2 single beds are really low and didn’t suit our adult family members. The TV was a mystery to us as there were no instructions on its use. The hot water service had not been turned on and there were no instructions on how to get hot water. Access is by key from a key-safe near the front door, and there are no dead-locks on external doors.

Great and interesting location, easy to park, access to local facilities, unfussy house, walk into the city.

Not the most comfortable beds

The place was spotless clean. Nice clean crisps bedding and towels. Nice quiet area. Easy walking distance to town and station. The master bedroom was lovely. The bathroom is nice. Host let us leave our luggage until next check in due.

The twin beds are awful and noisy. We were group of 5 and the twins were very low truckles and so noisy impossible to sleep on. I had to move mattress on floor and sleep on mattress on floor rather than bed. Friend did same next day as she had no sleep but in dark couldn't find space. There is only 4 mugs and a very odd assortment of single glasses and sizes. Futon was hard and 1 of our group had it to herself. Don't think the 6th person would ever fit. Best for a couple only I think.

Not far from York and was clean.

No toilet roll or tea & coffee. Sofa bed was broken and bed upstairs. Could really do with some carpet down. Sound travelled because of the house being empty.

Excellent communication before stay and available if needed throughout. Excellent location. Clean and good bathroom facilities.

No comfortable seating in the property - lacked a feeling of home comfort or welcome especially in downstairs rooms. A mug for cup of tea would be welcome.
