Moon Light- Sunrise Ella

It may be the best place to stay in Ella, literally in the middle of the jungle. The property is very beautiful, one has no idea where the garden ends and the jungle starts. It also feels very safe. We liked the large rooms, the comfortable beds and the beautiful views. The breakfast is very good, a dive in local culinary culture.

We liked everything about it. One should know that it is located at about 8 km from Ella, but the owners do their best to help with transportation. In terms of internet, it is best to come prepared with your own sim.

Amazing views and very private - perfect for a mountain retreat or romantic getaway. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to try many different Sri Lankan dishes. Our host Dolores was so great and you can tell she loves this property. Quick drive into downtown Ella and super close to Ravana falls!

We really liked the quiet location in the middle of the forest, the restaurant has a nice view into the landscape and the rooms where very clean and have huge beds. The balcony was also very nice to chill and enjoy the view. The host was always there for us helping out with everything we needed. They cooked amazing dinner and breakfast especially for our needs. They took care about special needs with our 4 year old son and tried to fulfill every wish we had. We definitely ate the best homecooked curry here we had since we arrived. :)) We wish them all the best and would definitely return to this beautiful place.

The way up was a challenge with a bigger car, but that was no problem since we always got picked up by the staff. And also made it feel really remote.

I had a great time at Moon light Ella. The service was exceptional. Delores was a star throughout my stay. I opted in to do the early morning sunrise meditation sessions with Delores- this was the highlight of my stay in Ella; Seeing the sunrise, listening to the birds and being around the beautiful green surroundings- such a joy each morning. This was then followed by a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. I walked to the falls and then took a Tuc-Tuc to the centre for further exploration of Ella. I am an avid walker so enjoyed this part of my stay. Delores will help and provide advice on transportation if you need to travel to the centre, etc.

-I was overcharged by the Tuc-Tuc driver when I first got there- wish I had contacted Moon Light Sunrise Ella beforehand to help with arranging transport on arrival.

We loved how peaceful and calm the property was, surrounded by the jungle and mountain air. Rooms were really big with high ceilings and the breakfast area was as an oasis of peace. We were really looked after and Dolores helped us organise tuktuks and cooking classes and sorting Wi-Fi.

Maybe a bit more ambience in the rooms.

We had a great stay at Moonlight sunrise in Ella. The rooms were clean, had a wonderful view and the double beds were nice and wide enough for two adults to fit in. The breakfast was amazing and the host was very friendly. The location was 9 km away from Ella city but it was possible to take a local bus (from the main road) in to the city center or tuktuk.

The location was really nice and the staff were really friendly. Dolores was very keen to address our needs supported by Athula and other staff. The breakfast was superb and they even customise it based on our needs with out any unfair costs.

The only problem we faced was the accessibility. The road was bit of a off road experience. Good for high floor vehicles. Our vehicle was bit low floor and the silencer was too low as well. They are working on improving the road and it will be fine soon. However they helped us to avoid this by providing their own vehicle to carry some of our passengers and the load. So this might not be a big issue.

Very nice and peaceful, great place. Great hospitality, and good service. Well working wi-fi, which is important to me.

I really enjoyed my stay, the room was spacious and clean. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend her meditation sessions, I felt so peaceful and relaxed afterward, as I haven't for a long time. I am definitely coming back, but this time for more days because this is a perfect place to take time for yourself and spend time in beautiful nature. If you can, I'd suggest you spend more days here, and take time for yourself and what they offer, because it is definitely worth it!
