Low Wood Bay

We had been looking forward to our visit to the spa since our trip last year. It didn’t disappoint! A beautiful location, a lovely relaxing experience and there is a new lounge with infra red face masks. One small thing, toilets and showers are limited and occasionally there was a small wait. Overall this didn’t cause too many issues but a few more of these facilities would make changing, after using the spa, more pleasant. We also stayed in Winander Club in a comfortable and pleasant room. The club facilities and extras gave a touch of luxury and we would definitely like to return again.

Exceptional spa day. Staff service was so professional and helpful and the little treats provided was a very nice touch! We will definitely be back for another visit shortly!

This has to be the best spa I have been too. Facilities are spotless, it wasn’t packed, the staff were lovely. There were free face masks, cakes and various drinks for you to have. Loved it.

Lovely location, very nice views. Hotel big, didnt use spa but meant to be very good. Afternoon tea very good. Staff very good, some new ones training. Bed needs renewing, some outside furniture from the winter weather with cushions need cleaning let it down. Plenty of parking

I fancy myself as a bit of a spa aficionado and Low Wood Spa is the best I’ve visited. Firstly, the view is breathtakingly beautiful, so it would win alone on that point. It’s tricky, but visit on a sunny day if you can, because this is where the Spa excels! The sauna, hot tub and two large pools are all placed to maximise the views of the lake (or Mere if you want to be pedantic), and the mountains beyond. Luxuriating in warmth of the thermal heat, and taking it all in with a glass (or two) of something cold, is a treat for the senses. What also sets the spa apart is the level of service. Staff regularly move around the facilities offering drinks, and a selection of delicious sweet treats. Some other’s I’ve visited require guests to get out, put on robes, and order drinks elsewhere. The staff were very attentive, cheerful and friendly. The spa facilities themselves are wonderful. I rarely go inside because the view is such a pull, but there is also a large inside pool and a great selection of treatments. I’ve heard rumours of a third pool being planned. I hope that’s true. Everyone deserves to be treated to a thermal spa journey at Low Wood. They’ll remember it long after they leave.

we stayed 1 night at the low wood spa. Unfortunately I didn’t rate the room we stayed in. It was ok but just lacked the wow factor that we thought we would get with the spa. The windows were very thin and single glazed Our view was of the car park but the room was clean. Bathroom facilities were good. I’m sure you could get better rooms in the main building which would have been far more expensive if you wanted. Breakfast was not great either. You could tell the food had been sitting there a while and didn’t have the freshness so we didn’t touch it. The eggs you can order poached, omelette etc so they were ok. The service could have been better. You could see there was some issues between the staff but ours was ok and got on with it and was very pleasant but another could have smiled once at least. I would 100% recommend the spa as we had an amazing time but next time we would visit as a day guest and stay somewhere far nicer with same views and cheaper as we had done the night before.
