Clock Tower Retreat - Sea View Apartments in Morecambe

The Appartment had very modern decor and a fantastic view of half moon Bay and the sea.

The sea view is exceptional and the flat is right on the prom.

The boiler for the hot water and heating didn't function for 2 days. Even after the owner had it looked at there was no hot water on the third day. The owner did not apologise during our stay and refused to give a refund. (See more details below) The stairs are very narrow and steep and difficult to negotiate with a suitcase. Also they lack a handrail in a crucial place. The entrance hallway was sordid and had crates of dirty laundry. It flooded after rain and the door mat was a soggy barrier to get across. (Almost every other review mentions this problem but the owner has yet to rectify it.) The bathroom door handles were falling off, likewise the bedroom window handle. The bath towels provided were minimum size. The front door lock was so difficult that I couldn't manage to unlock it. (This was mentioned in a previous review). The toilet seat needs adjusting (as mentioned in a previous review). The curtain holders were loose. The bathroom door frame was mouldy. The bathroom towel rail gets dangerously hot. The other radiators get progressively cooler further from the boiler until the one in the kitchen area barely gets warm. (I mentioned to the owner that the radiators need balancing but she has not replied). Finally to finish about the boiler, when we explained the problems to the owner, she claimed that it was a new boiler, although it is clearly rusty and the programmer has been painted over!

Location excellent, communication with hosts were great, views from the apartment overlooking the bay, nice little apartment, didn’t hear anyone else whilst there

The smell of damp as you walk through the door into the hall, think the bins must have a huge impact on this… the front door lock / key just about went in, unbelievably stiff to get the key in & out. Was just about to call the owner as none of the keys would open the front door until i shoved it in tight! Definitely a new front door barrel & set of keys is number one on the list, hand soap in the bathroom would of been nice & maybe a couple of sachets of milk to go with the tea bags & coffee supplied… tv didn’t seem to have normal channels on, also Staines on the extra bedding, which needs replacing….only few minor changes needed, but enjoyed my stay

We were very impressed with the property and especially loved the prime location right next to the beach. Being in a lively area was exactly what we wanted, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The property itself was excellent, but we suggest cleaning the entrance area to improve the first impression for guests.

It was in a ideal location and any issues was resolved quickly and the agent was available to answer any queries. It's not far from the train station.

I noticed the light above the main entrance was not working and it can cause a problem when it's dark .
