"We loved it"

9.0

The host, Kelly, was great, very friendly, and extremely helpful. The instructions for entering the property were clear and easy. The use of a lounge, a conservatory (dining area), and garden was a real plus. Plenty of extra tea/coffee/biscuits if you needed them, we didnt, there were plenty in the room already. The allocated parking space was clearly marked and spacious....no tight little space you can hardly squeeze your car in. The room was immaculate, decorated very tastefully, and the ensuite was a very good size, very clean and bright. The whole place was clean and fresh and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely book again if we were intending to stay in Wells.

Im really being picky here, so nothing bad to say about the accommodation but just some things that might make it unsuitable for certain people. The garden view room is a little narrow whete the bed is. It has been fitted with small bedside cabinets on each side, so they have really made the best of the space, but there isn't a lot of room between the bed and the wall. Wasn't too much of a problem for us, but it could be a bit of hassle if you're built larger than us. This is not a complaint as we were told it was a small double before booking.... but just pointing out why it might not be suitable for some people. I found the location good, but it is a 15-minute (maybe shorter, I never timed it) walk into the main part of town. I would have probably preferred to be a little closer, but then it wouldn't have been so quiet and tranquil, so you can't have everything. However, if your mobility isn't good, this is something you need to consider. The view from the window is as the room name suggests of the garden, but there is a dwelling at the back of the garden that can see straight into the room if the curtains are not drawn. For any privacy, when getting dressed or changing, you need to draw the curtains, making it very dark inside (which I suppose you want from curtains most of the time). I'm not an interior designer, but maybe blinds or something like that could be fitted to give privacy but still allow light in. One more thing, I hate the way this review has rated it as a 9 because I dropped a mark for location. It's a very small point that was just my personal opinion... should be a 9.6 at least.

"A wonderful break and we hope to return."

10.0

We stayed in Marsh View on the ground floor. The room was perfect, spotlessly clean and so many little extras, everytime I opened another cupboard or drawer there was something else that “just might be needed” . Refreshment tray was overflowing with every type of tea and coffee you could need and fresh milk in the little fridge, Kelly even popped by with extra decaf coffee bags for me - nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. The room was large and airy and the bed was extremely comfortable, even a little sofa to relax on in the bay window. Side tables with coasters for drinks, bedside tables with lamps. Plenty of storage space too. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, lots of hot water and the shower was powerful. The towels were huge, could wrap yourself in them easily. Very peaceful setting. Parking space allocated and easy access. Instructions for arrival were very clear and precise. Although we didn’t use the kitchen/dining room facilities they looked extremely good. Plus you could order a continental breakfast but we made other arrangements. A very easy walk into town centre with the harbour/quay at the end of it. We would most definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

A slight negative was we could hear the person above walking about, most of the time this was not a problem but at night could be a little annoying. Think the person was very heavy footed so might not always be a problem. It didn’t spoil our break and to be fair there were ear plugs if we needed them.

"Welcoming, comfortable and clean, great attention to detsil."

8.0

Very comfortable and clean with every detail taken care of. Nice decor in the room, modern ensuite. Plenty of different tea, coffee and drinks provided, good quality bathroom products. A well maintained property, lounge and dining room for guests to use. Good parking and access to building.

For us we found it a bit of a walk into Wells and this was not ideal, although if you’re driving it’s not a problem. Also I was disappointed that the ‘Sea View’ was very distant.

Nicely decorated, clean, fresh milk, tea and biscuits was very appreciated.

Mattress not as comfortable as we are used too.

"Really good, excellent location, Wells is lovely with lots of walking and sightseeing."

9.0

Sadly, there was no breakfast included. The bed was brilliant, very firm.

Because of the room size, the curtain could be opened by brushing past it, removing the privacy of the room.

Good location. Very comfortable and with everything you need. The fridge on the landing with fresh milk is a great idea. We were in the garden room and it was very pleasant. Would stay again and highly recommend.

"Comfortable well equipped rooms, with use of lounge and conservatory for a flexible stay."

9.0

Lovely room, lots of thoughtful touches, great to have use of the guest lounge and conservatory. Great to have use of a little fridge and a freezer, bottled water, biscuits, good supply of tea and coffee and even some honey. We liked the flexibility. Good car park, easy walk into Wells, very good Co Op a short walk away to get supplies including fresh pastries, and great choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes in Wells. We didn’t have the breakfast tray but other guests seemed very happy with it. The Bowling Green Pub just along the road is great, with a good range of reasonably priced food, and beers. We also ate our hosts restaurant The Crab House which is excellent.

Very little. A misunderstanding meant we inadvertently parked in a JustPark space at one end of the drive when all the other spaces were full, so it might be better to allocate a space for each of the 4 rooms.
