Amanda Luxury Cruise

Les paysages de la baie d’Halong étaient incroyables, surtout au coucher du soleil depuis le pont supérieur. La nourriture était délicieuse, avec un grand choix de plats, notamment des fruits de mer frais et des options végétariennes. Nous nous sommes sentis parfaitement pris en charge tout au long de la croisière.

The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, even decorating our room and surprising us with a small cake at dinner. The scenery around Halong Bay was breathtaking and the ship itself was elegant and modern. We would happily come back again.

The food was well prepared, portions were generous, and activities were well organized without being overwhelming. There were no unexpected costs, and everything matched the description. We would definitely choose this cruise again and confidently recommend it to other travelers.

Dit is een unieke ervaring. We hadden een prachtige kamer met balkon en je krijgt continu nieuwe indrukwekkende uitzichten. Alles was heel erg proper en goed georganiseerd. De planning is strak, dus dit maakt de cruise-ervaring wel intens. Het is dus geen cruise om te relaxen, maar ze zorgen er wel voor dat je een goede combinatie aan activiteiten en ontspanning hebt.

We werden 2 dagen op voorhand gecontacteerd om in te schepen op een andere cruise van dezelfde organisatie, met volledig hetzelfde aanbod. Dit was heel goed, maar we hebben uiteindelijk niet gekregen wat we wel geboekt hadden. Het diner bleef wel onder verwachting en was niet in lijn met de rest van de cruise. We raden de keuken aan om dichtbij de Vietnamese keuken te blijven.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food—it was truly excellent. Andy, our manager, was wonderful—both friendly and very helpful, with a great sense of humor. Daisy was so helpful and friendly. The rest of the team was equally impressive, providing outstanding service throughout.

It’s simply nothing…everything was great.

A nossa experiência no Amanda Luxury Cruises não foi boa. Sendo um cruzeiro vendido como “luxo de 5 estrelas”, é inadmissível haver baratas no quarto — numa só noite matámos 8. Avisámos o staff do sucedido, foram ao quarto e aplicaram inseticida, mas, quando regressámos, voltámos a encontrar mais. No dia seguinte, trocaram-nos de quarto, mas considerámos a atitude do staff demasiado passiva. Na segunda noite já não encontrámos baratas no novo quarto, mas elas estavam presentes noutras áreas do barco, nomeadamente no deck superior junto ao bar. A limpeza dos quartos deixa muito a desejar: ao afastarmos as camas da parede, devido às baratas, encontrámos restos de comida atrás da cama. O pequeno-almoço não é mau, mas está longe do esperado para um espaço considerado “5 estrelas”. Muito caro para o serviço e as condições oferecidas. Ficámos profundamente desiludidos com a passividade do staff, o que não é surpreendente, tendo em conta que era uma equipa muito jovem.

The cruise director Tony was lovely and was very attentive, he was funny and made sure everyone was happy. food was lovely, and itinerary was great fun, lots to do and well planned out for all ages all the staff were friendly. The ship itself was very clean, the room was great with good facilities.

If you stayed on board during the day whilst the excursion was happening off the ship then there is no food available, the only reason I say this, is because my mum stayed on board as she was unwell and there was no food available or drink. So my dad went up to the captain to get a soda

The food was very good and we especially liked eating in the open air on deck in the evening. The staff were attentive but never intrusive. We had Lisa mainly as our waitress and she was excellent, making sure our food and drink orders were delivered quickly and accurately. She was always smiling and it helped to create a good atmosphere.

There is quite a bit of waiting around for things such as when you first arrive and also when you leave. The ship is quite small in some ways and it takes some organising of the facilities to make things work well. However, the size of the ship made things quite intimate so I guess one thing is balanced by the other. Another thing was the whinging Australians who I think had stumbled onto the cruise by mistake and just wanted to drink and lie in the tiny pool. They should go back to Bali where they can be taken care of properly.
