Riverside House - with parking

Location was excellent. Very impressed with the flood gates. They closed automatically to prevent the property being flooded.

Would have helped if we'd been warned about the floodgates possibly closing. Was quite difficult also to find the property - the directions are not quite accurate.

The property is very well equipped and in a very central location.

We came to attend my son’s graduation and the situation for both the Minster, train station and The Star Inn couldn’t have been better (all in easy walking distance). The house was wonderful. A fantastic find and we’d definitely love to stay again. The Christmas tree & decorations were a lovely surprise touch!

Possibly an extra jug and basin or two, in the kitchen maybe. But difficult to find fault otherwise.

Lovely location close to the river. Spacious house with a particularly pleasant first floor lounge room with a lovely view of the river.

After reading the very high and positive reviews it was decided that the cost was justified in staying here. For us the experience was not as good as it could have been. There was a number of issues regarding housekeeping, most of which in our opinion should have been highlighted before we arrived. The letting company did resolve nearly all the issues but this did take until near the end of our stay to be resolved. The most disappointing issue for us was the general cleanliness of the property and even after a revisit of the housekeeping team, there were areas of the house that were far from their best. A cracked lampshade in a lamp in one of the bedrooms did not reflect favourably on the property. The company were most helpful to begin with and were always polite but we were made to feel the onus was on us to ensure the property was accessible for tradesmen etc. As complaints continued the company were less inclined to communicate and despite reassurances that the manager would call back to discuss the issues this unfortunately never happened. We did have a good time in York but you can’t fail to have a good time in such a beautiful city. Hopefully this was a little blip and our experience was not the norm, but I would hope that the management company acts upon this with greater scrutiny and quality assurance in their monitoring of housekeeping in their properties.

The location was perfect - I wanted to go to the National Railway Museum which was just the other side of the river. Betties and the Shambles are an easy walk in the other direction. Loved the location by the river.

I have had to struggle to find any negative points - the only slight issue we had was some of the sections of the cooker did not seem to work but it was a big cooker and enough for our needs.

It was perfect accommodation for our group
