Riverside Retreat - City Centre York

Best thing about this place is location. That's as far as it goes.

It was totally overpriced. We thought we were getting luxury for the extortionate price we paid. 2nd bedroom so small. I towel per person. 5 hanger between 4 people. Very basic apartment & small. Wouldn't stay hereagain.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The location was perfect, with just a stroll over the bridge to get into the city centre. Communication from the owners was spot on from the moment of booking and queries were responded to immediately. The WiFi was fast and with TVs in both bedrooms as well as the living room meant we could all have our own space to relax and decompress after a full-on day around York.

During the heatwave, we did have to have all windows open at night which meant there was quite a few street noise disturbances. Obviously not the owners’ fault, but maybe a portable fan could’ve been available.

Great apartment in a very central location. Great facilities in the apartment, with all that was needed. The apartment is not connected to any other, and has two balconies. Overall Excellent.

Not a lot that can be done here, but the property did shake a bit when large vehicles went by.

Location was perfect for the city centre and it was lovely and airy

Right at the top of 4 flights of stairs and building shook when trains went past

This is the perfect location for enjoying the city. The staff was very helpful and all interior is in perfect condition. The toilet is especially impressive flushing perfectly with very little water consumption - very sustainable.

We are having some difficulties coming to terms with double duvets - a possible improvement for us would be to have 2 individual duvets per double bed. The new electric busses are so heavy that the whole neighborhood is shaking when they pass by. Luckily they are not going during the night so they don't disturb.

Location excellent and the apartment was very clean.

The building shook every time a double decker bus went by and there were quiet a few as the road is a bus route and indeed any large vehicle. Very noisy outside. No wardrobes to hang clothes. Didn't meet any staff as we checked in at 23:30. Didn't use the kitchen as we only stayed for 2 nights. Very pricey for 2 nights and was charged an additional £30 to check out 2 hours later even though I did ask the question to the agent before I booked regarding the late check out and said they can do 2 hours but not 3 and never mentioned an additional cost at the time. Apparently the calls are not recorded even though I gave them the date and time of the conversation.

The only thing I would say was the tv that needs to be sorted out ie the main channels and it would freeze all the time maybe go through sky

Absolutely perfect. Clean, well equipped and decorated really nice.

Carrying all our bags up the stairs! Nothing, it was perfect.
