The Dorel SF

La cuisine partagée bien équipée, l'ambiance avec les autres résidents. Les transports en commun à quelques pas, la proximité de l'Union Square à 15' à pied et du port à 30'.

Gare Caltrain un peu éloignée (il y a une correspondance pour la rejoindre, soit un peu plus de 30'). Il manque une chaise pour manger dans la chambre (supposée studio), notamment lorsqu'on est malade.

The wall bed is too soft

Overall it was a nice stay, the room was clean (except the fridge) when I arrived, as well as the common kitchen area. The location is not too far from the city center.

The area is very close to Tenderloin which is full of homeless people and junkies and you see a lot of them around the area, so I wasn't feeling very safe. The fridge wasn't cleaned when I arrived and it smelled very bad. I had to clean it by myself. I stayed for 7 nights and my room was cleaned only once. The sheets were not changed at all. You have to throw your own trash before you leave.

The room was extremely compact but the bed was easy to put away, so it was nice having the sofa too. I liked the enormous and well equipped kitchen, plus having a fridge and microwave in the room. The outdoor terrace was nice for breakfast.

Totally non-responsive host. The fan I was given was broken and the area is far too noisy Friday through the weekend to open the window so I slept terribly (even with earplugs) the last few nights. Walls are quite thin too and a noisy neighbour talking on the phone until late was irritating. The shower was awkwardly sized even for me at 5ft 4. The area itself is a bit shabby and dangerous with a lot of homeless people hanging around, so I wouldn't stay here again. It was expensive for what it was really.
