Honey Horsefield Grade ll Cottage

Very pretty. Great communication from the host when we booked very last minute and late in the day. Some chocolates, biscuits, coffees, teas left. Awesome huge bath and some toiletries. Good facilities in kitchen, lounge - plenty of TV channels etc. Comfortable bedroom. Old building so does feel chilly but great central heating system warms it up quickly. Imagine it will still feel nice and cool in summer!

Difficult to find initially but it was late. Given wrong lockbox code originally but quickly rectified! There are some cameras in hallways/lounge - not a massive issue for us and can understand if they've had issues previously but just to be mindful. Couldn't open bedroom window for some air though it isn't too warm up there and may have just had a knack to it. Wouldn't suit anyone with mobility issues as steps up all around/low beams and bathroom downstairs through the house but again not an issue for us!

The cottage was lovely the pictures don’t do it justice! It’s warm with everything you need. It was my husband’s birthday and they left balloons, card and little present for him. They also left us a tray of goodies and tea etc! We all enjoyed our stay and enjoyed a walk to the local village with a stop in the pub which had a wood burner. We would definitely be back!

The cottage - building only.

LUXURY Cottage ? Far from it !! Outside of property not well maintained and uninviting. Very difficult to open both front doors. Rubbish deposited around waste bin and around side of cottage - cardboard trays, old plastic refuse sacks, etc. Kitchen to lounge door did not close properly - draughty. No info re TV/heating, no literature re local amenities, shops, etc. Also no visitor's book. Curtains barely covered windows. Under sink cupboards dirty, shelf collapsed. Lounge light missing, small bedroom no lampshade. Very basic cutlery/utensils, etc. No waste bins in any room apart from kitchen. No coffee making machine or hairdryer despite advertised facilities. ONE tea cloth and ONE loo roll ! No privacy curtain/blind in bathroom. Despite phone contact with owner re. coffee making facilities, he never suggested replacing the 'broken' one although knowing it was broken 'by previous' client. In general the interior decor wasn't in keeping with the ambience of the cottage. Needed a lot of TLC. Most of our UK rental owners always go the extra mile (and abroad) to helped their clients - this one didn't. We only stayed one night and although owner was informed, we haven't heard from him since. Certainly not worth the rent charged !

Very cute and quirky property, great communication from host, nice welcome goodies, loved the pink theme and had everything we needed. Including heating. Quiet location with great friendly local pub/restraunt near by. 30 minute car journey to Bury for great shops etc
