Gorgeous High Floor Skytower view 2 Bedroom Apartment in Auckland CBD

The location was amazing

Apartment smelt like fried food I left a jacket and a shoe bag there, informed the owner and they never came back to me. This could have been avoided if the instruction wasn't to leave the fob inside. Booking was difficult because they couldn't use my card through my travel app. In the end booked direct with booking.com. This meant the original attempt was cancelled and I could not confirm if the new booking was confirmed on the day! Very hard to contact the owner, phone number went straight to voicemail every time. No call backs. Overall a property that should not be used for this purpose

It was in the right spot for the reason I was there for. Close to skytower, close to my work function which was at Rydges hotel, close to countdown and the carpark at casino

My own personal preference - apartment was small, the washing and dryer were very loud, the dishwasher was broken, the pool didn’t look inviting - needs a clean, the gym looks outdated and in need of a clean up

Location and view

From the moment we arrived, things went wrong. The wrong key was left for us, meaning we couldn’t access the sauna. When we finally did, it was a complete letdown, the wood was peeling, and the whole area was badly dated. The pool was freezing and unusable. The furniture and amenities were cheap and dated, nothing close to what you’d expect from what I thought appeared as a luxury apartment listing. We were given just one thin towel per person and had to ask for more. Amenities were beyond basic, one thin pillow per person with no extra pillows or blankets, no face cloths, and only one bedside lamp per room. The toilet didn’t flush, so we had tradespeople in our unit at 9am the next day to fix it. To make matters worse, they also decided to install a dryer at the same time, completely disrupting our morning. When I contacted management, the first response was basically, “you can find somewhere else.” Not helpful at all. After pushing further, we were reluctantly offered a $50 discount and a late checkout, which we accepted just to move on. But the problems continued, the washing machine then stopped working, and after that we were completely ghosted. No replies to messages, or emails. Even when I tried to ask about checkout instructions, there was total silence. Despite everything, we still left the place tidy and even took our rubbish, because that’s just the Kiwi way. Sadly, the property was nothing like described “beautiful” couldn’t be further from the truth. The TV barely worked (terrible reception, only basic channels), the beds were uncomfortable, and the whole experience was unprofessional from start to finish. **Do not book this place.** It was easily the worst accommodation experience we’ve had.

Just 1 minute from the SkyTower, close to everything we needed.

The title says SkyTower view, but our apartment was on the other side, so there was no SkyTower view. However, we did get a nice harbour view

Pool water was freezing / No Pool towels Shower towels were thin old & worn out . Crap No shelves in the shower for shampoo/ conditioner/ soap could install dispensers tidy it up. No views of Sky tower . False advertising
