Myrtle Stables - converted, self-contained, countryside

Loved the very clean and cosy little house. Mark and Julia are wonderful hosts. We were met by a welcome hamper with lots of goodies to get us started. Hernhill offers great walks and a lovely pub as well as easy access to the motorway. Perfect for quiet countryside walks and trips to Canterbury, Whitstable or London. We could ask for advice and ideas, which was very helpful. Julia and Mark gave us space and privacy while on the other hand being available and very helpful. We loved every minute. Can't wait to be back!

Fantastic will be booking again

The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and well furnished and equipped. It was in a rural area but near to good facilities and the local town, Whitstable. The local pub, the Red Lion, was excellent with good food and a great ambience. We were welcomed by our host on arrival which was good but then had complete privacy.

The noise of traffic on the dual carriageway was quite loud but didn't disturb us once we were inside. I would have welcomed more information about what's on locally this month e.g. festivals, concerts, special events as these can really add to the enjoyment of a short stay. I struggled to get the door back on the key box!

Our instant reaction was “wow” this place is absolutely gorgeous. Julia and Mark have thought of everything to make our stay welcoming, cosy and comfortable. Mark came and introduced himself when we arrived which we loved, it was great putting a face to the name and then on the same day a little later I contacted Julia to asked if she had a local taxi firm that could take us to the wedding we were attending on the Saturday, instead of just messaging the number back she came personally with the number so again it was fab to put a face to the name Julia and Mark are the perfect hosts. The stables are a quaint little place to stay in a quaint location. Perfect just perfect

There was nothing that we didn’t like. Everything was close there was a petrol station literally minutes away which had everything you needed and there was also a Greggs and Costa.

Beautiful property. Spotlessly clean. The added touches of fresh bread and butter in the fridge were very welcome. Quiet location. Alas no visit from the friendly hen but we will stay again for sure so there’s always next time. Lovely fluffy towels. So many pluses!

Quite difficult to find but I may have missed detailed instructions. What3words would be a great help.

Plenty of parking. Easy to locate keys. The Stables were beautiful. Clean, very quiet, and bigger than expected. Julia was easy to contact if we needed help, we did, to supply bedding for the sofa bed. Julia made the bed up, which was unexpected and very welcome. She had left a fresh loaf and eggs which were lovely. We felt at home. The Stables were very comfortable despite the heatwave, Julia supplied additional fans. Anything we needed we only had to contact her.

The location was hard to find at first. Three properties with same name, Myrtle Stables was not named, found by chance.

Property was extremely clean and comfortable , situated in a lovely location and only a few minutes driving to nearby towns and shops .great host on hand if needed . Gorgeous sunny patio for meals outside on sunny days , which I was fortunate to have 😁

Lovely cottage….exceptionally clean…..everything you could wish for…..nice touches ie the eggs and bread. We were staying for a wedding that my daughter had organised for her best friends, at the last minute she needed to stay with us for one night , I contacted the hosts and they were most accommodating making up the bed for her ….she was over the moon as she thought she was sleeping on the sofa !!!!……much appreciated.

Only downside was the traffic noise from the motorway but the fabulous bird noise helped to drown that out !!……but it certainly wouldn’t stop us staying again.

Everything we needed for our stay . Ideal for two adults and two children . Lots to do in the area .
