The Crossings Inn, Eco-friendly cabin in the Cumbrian countryside with heating and hot water

Property-.LOVED IT. The cabin is just so relaxing. I have visited over 50 countries and this is way up there with some of the best cabins to take a break in. Spotless. Good value if there is a few of you. Instructions spot on, although think they mention parking next to the cabin , so I got confused trying to find the cabin as you cant park next to it so I just asked at the pub and parked by the pub.

Issues fixed quickly and crossed wires sorted ASAP:) The front door of the big cabin is really stiff- can feel like it is stuck, it is just stubborn. I think other reviews have mentioned door issues too. I was missing body wash and coffee but I bet people stole them, so unlikely owners fault!

Good countryside views.

No internet. Generic automated messages. Pub next door doesn't do breakfast.... despite marketing info. Pub only serves dinner from Thursday to Sunday.... despite marketing info.

It was ideally placed for our plans.

Unfortunately we had to come home early as we couldn’t cool the building and it was making me ill. It would be much more useable if there was a microwave.

Great location for a wedding we was attending. Had a problem with the hot water not working but messaged the owner and they got it sorted for us really quickly.

Was a little confusing as we was told we was staying in cabin 2 but neither cabin had a number on.

Modern, attractive and very clean. It had almost all facilities that we required. We only needed it to sleep in and it was adequate for this. We slept well. The view. Saw a deer running across the field. Suitable for two adults who know each other very well. Good shower.

Very small. Washbasin was a small handbasin. It is supposed to be equipped for four but two would be on a sofa bed and the conditions would be very cramped indeed, especially i if the weather were poor. The shower room is in one of the bedrooms. Nowhere to put wet coats. No washing up liquid or dishcloth but that was quickly remedied when we asked. Toaster set off smoke alarm every time and windows don't open. Outside area needs a tidy-up eg. fences need repair.
