Everything was very good, the staff work extremely hard to make your stay a happy and comfortable experience. Yes, some of the furniture is old but it somehow adds to the charm. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the shower worked well, the breakfast had plenty of choice of high quality. The hotel looks like just a large pub on arrival, but as to go round to the reception you find that there is much more to the St Leonards. My room was lovely and clean with all the amenities you need. It is good value for money, and a good choice as a base to explore the area.

The room was comfortable enough for a one night stop between places and had a comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast options were nice.

The pub and hotel have a function space that had music playing very loud and quite late (after 11pm) that disturbed us in the room. The room was a little tired and perhaps could have done with refurbishment. At breakfast, I picked up a croissant that was still raw dough in the middle.

The room and facilities were good value for money. If it's just a bed for the night that you need this'll do you nicely!

Well... In my experience there are two reasons you work in hospitality, you either love it or you have no other option.. Unfortunately our experience this weekend was most definitely the latter.. Our aptly named title character clearly despised her job and seemingly went out of her way to ensure our visit was as unpleasant as possible.. If ignoring guests at the bar and food service bells from her colleagues in the kitchen was an Olympic sport we would have a gold medalist in our midst! Time management though, that's where the magic happened! This was her time to shine, her moment in the spotlight! It was time.. Time for our title character to leave her throne from across the room, obnoxiously shuffle her way past waiting guests at the bar with a huff and a puff and serve up the now congealed food to her unsuspecting victims.. The chefs hard work just an innocent caught in the crossfire of her cunning plan! A plan to leave guests waiting at the bar just long enough to run the clock past the cut off time for ordering food! Surely the excessive wait at the bar cancelled out the single minute past cutoff you ask? Not on her watch.. The glee on her face frustrated us but not for long, this may have been the highlight of her day, indeed her week? Sad really.. Once this review is done it'll just be an amusing tale for future dinner tables, just not in this restaurant..
