Blue House Porto Apartments

The apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed.

Nothing. The unit was a little hard to find but was because of our senior brains.

The location was perfect and the Management were extremely helpful. A very enjoyable experience in Porto.

This is an excellent apartment with perfect location in Porto. Would like to return. Our host was very helpful and welcoming.

Everything was all right.

Lccation was great for site seeing. Property quite compact but clean and modern. The apartment was noisy. The photos do not show the many bars just outside. The road was noisy as were the other tenants coming in during the night. Checkin was a bit stressful with a car. You have to wait to be guided to the carpark on arrival, which is a short walk away.

In a perfect world this accommodation would have been great had it been in a more quieter area. Although we wanted something close to the Old Centre of Porto, we were more uphill. Either way there will be hills and stairs to climb no matter where you are in Porto. Our rental spot was across the street from Santo Antonio Hospital with a busy intersection just outside the main door. The unit is also located above a small piazza with several restaurants servicing lots of tables. We faced the rear which wasn't so bad but the side traffic and exuberant drinking certainly made for some rowdy late night tomfoolery and noise. Annoying but it didn't keep us up at night. Just be aware. BTW: It seems that piazza male patrons love the small corner of the building to relieve themselves, as noticeable by the exceptional strong odour as you approach the piazza along the side of the building to Blue House's main entrance. As for the unit itself accessibility was great and the stairs were easy to manage without an elevator present. Instructions and information provided by management were also easy to understand and follow. We had some minor issues with parking (finding it was a challenge since it's actually underground at the nearby park!) but again management came through the next day with the required parking pass. If anything the management team were great with communications long before we visited, answered all of our questions, and addressed those issues we brought up which needed attention during our stay. Beds were comfortable although the pillows were minimal in both selection and comfort. The bedroom itself is spacious except at the foot of the bed which is narrow when passing from one side to the other. We managed. We were left with two sets of two towels each for our 7 night stay. There were no dish towels, paper or otherwise. Luckily Continente, Spar or Pingo Doce are relatively close by to stock up on missing items.

This apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The in-person welcome and check in was a very nice touch as most places nowadays are all self-checkin. The location was great, a 5- 10 minute walk to anywhere. We found lovely restaurants and cafes not even 2 min walk away. Parking was underneath the building, and so convenient, just conform this when booking.

The bars outside can get noisy. We stayed in the apartment at the back of the building, and it was still a bit loud on the weekend night. Pack earplugs, and you'll be just fine.

Location close to city center and close to parking. Coffee taps and some tee bags provided.

The rental company did not mention that we would need to call 1/2 hour before arrival - so nobody was there for check in even if we sent e-mails the day before notifying when we want to check in. We had to wait around 15 minutes until a friendly colleague arrived who apologized. The rental company did not give any advice where to/ how to park for unloading even if I had asked for! There is almost no place to park for some minutes for unloading. A recommendation to park in the very close garage and how to enter the garage would have been very helpful.!!! The rental company expects to record personal data online before arrival. Also they expect to pay city tax before arrival and are very pushy so that you do so. The appartament is much much smaller than it appears in the pictures. There is no space to keep 2 pieces of luggage in the sleeping room. Almost like a cheap Japanese hotel room. Also the apartament is kind of heavily used, the pictures "pretend" a "new" appartament. The neighborhood is too loud, you cannot leave the windows open over night as the ventilators of the neighbors' ACs are too loud and run day and night. At night drugged people loom around the house, we felt pretty unsave when we were approached by two drunk/drugged persons when we left the apartament early in the morning. The appartament itself: No electricity socket and no light next to bed. Lamp available but without electricity. Water tap loose, I needed to screw it tight. Toilet seat loose. No coffee / tee cups, no tee pot, only espresso cups. Finally, the rental company expects us to rate the appartament and service with 10.... the support their business....

The location was pretty convenient to both places we wanted to visit and to restaurants and bars. Lots of space for two people.

The 2nd floor apartment (with terrace overlooking the park) was so quiet and comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed to cook and prepare our own meals. It was a 6 minute walk to the little grocery store to get supplies. We had a rental car and were able to park in an underground 24 hour secure parking lot under the building and were able to walk everywhere else for the 2 days we were there.

This isn't a big deal, and we didn't care at all, but the apartment has some "lived in" marks on the wall and scratches on the floor, etc. But other than that, it's in great condition, and was very clean. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay that is in a central and safe location.
