Blue House Porto Apartments

The location was nice, and having parking was convenient.

We had a number of complaints which I relayed privately to the property (and received no response). Arrival: They did not email or text us the check in instructions in advance or outline access to the parking. We had our car and kept circling the property (no text response about how to get to the parking). The host met us and led us to the parking and the apartment but then left very quickly- not having given me the full checkin guide. My husband was stuck outside with our 2 year old because we didn’t have the code yet. The apartment: Clean enough but very sparse, no soap/shower gel in the shower, and various features of the place just were thoughtless/made no sense— eg, a lamp was placed on the bedside table despite their being no plug there- the cord was just dangling and there was no way it could reach a wall. Maybe would recommend getting an extension cord or just not bothering to put a lamp there at all? More importantly, the pull out bed was very bad and collapsed multiple times during our 2 night stay. Given this is where our child was meant to sleep, it was dangerous and unacceptable. Security/noise/odors: The stairwell smelled of urine the entire time (not just the outside which is out of their control, but the inside too). During our second night, there were drunk people screaming in the stairwell and hall on and off from about 1am-5am. When we came down in the morning to get coffee, the front door to the building was wide open and there was the smell of even more fresh urine everywhere in the building. Check out: No instructions were given to us for check out, no response via text- only when I called the phone number. At this point, the lock box code we were provided wasn’t working and we realized it was because they had put us in the wrong apartment the whole time. Overall fine if you want to crash somewhere more like a hostel (but with private rooms), but would not recommend otherwise.

Centrally located in the heart of Porto.

The location of the property is perfect. Walkable to every tourist attractions.

Suggestions: 1) Pillows were too soft, only provided 1 set. 2) No door to the shower. After shower, floor close to it was always wet.

Location and presentation of the apartment was excellent. Very well appointed apartment with super comfy bed, centrally located, walkable to the river area and plenty of restaurants around for the evening.

Entrance to parking area is very difficult to find without assistance - they do offer to assist. Unfortunately hot water was not turned on for our arrival however overall we still enjoyed staying at the apartment.

Appartment is located in centre of the city and it has free garage parking which is terribly hard to find in Porto. It was clean and well equipped. Heating is with air conditioning.

We had a bit of miscommunication about the check-in. The key is in a lockbox and the front door of the building is locked by code, but we got that info only after check-in which was a bit uncomfortable considering it was raining. The appartmenet wasn't preparred for 4 people but for 2. The host quickly provided additional bedding and towls. Also, the boiller was off when we arrived so we couldn't shower first night.
