"Relaxing, comfortable, very comfy beds! Fabulous view from dining room table!"

Gorgeous location and we were blessed with fabulous weather! Loved the walks and the nearby cafe! Loved the sound of the river!

steep stairs leading to bedrooms - not a problem for us but would not be suitable for some.

"Perfect place to go on holiday"

10.0

There was a blue, red and black walk pretty much right from the door. There was a lovely tea shop two minutes away. Loved listening to the sound of the waterfall from the gatehouse the whole time. Great bike rides, and saw red squirrels, highland cows, deer and an otter. Really quiet, beautiful area to visit. Only downside was a half nine check out time, could definitely have stayed longer 😊

Having the right code for the key point when we arrived

"Magical gateaway - even better than the photos!!"

10.0

The place is even better in person. The view from the picture window is just magical-even deer wandering out from the woods. See if you can find the secret exit to the riverview balcony! Nice shower and hot bath perfect after a day of walking. The single-track road drive from Killin, past Lawers Dam, is absolutely insane(ly beautiful). There are lovely walks from here, including to Meggernie Castle about 30 minutes on foot and an hour walk one way to the magnificent Praying Hands of Mary. Every which way you look, there are mountains, streams, and sheep... also it's red squirrel territory! Glenlyon Post Office cafe is just 2 minutes down the road - the red loop behind it takes under an hour but involves going up continuously for quite a while. Under 20-minutes' drive away past the post office office along the River Lyon is the "Roman" Bridge on the other side of the river. Of course, lots to see around Loch Tay and Aberfeldy not far away.

The stairs up to the bedroom/down to the kitchen, living room, and bathroom are quite steep - was not a problem for us.

"We'll be going back as soon as we can!"

9.0

Having driven through the stunning glen, as soon as you drive up to the Gatehouse you realise you have booked somewhere amazing. Its situated down a quiet lane, not far from a friendly tearoom. The river runs alongside both and its very relaxing to sit and watch from either the tearoom or the picture window within the property. As a guest you are made to feel at home with everything you need being provided. The property is very remote but this only made our stay even more special, you just have to go prepared.
