Overpriced and not fit for purpose. We PAID USD 422.40 for two nights and left early due to no usable hot water, excessive noise, and no sleep. Management acknowledged the water issue but refused a fair refund, hiding behind policy and offering only alternative accommodation or a token partial refund. Very poor handling of a legitimate complaint. Would not recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. The location is ideal, the food exceeded our expectations and breakfast was consistently great. Everything was extremely clean and well organized. For the price, it’s honestly a standout. Would recommend it without hesitation.

We can understand why some people might rate the place lower, it really comes down to personal preference. Being right in the center, surrounded by cafés and local life, can feel either like a plus or a minus depending on what you’re looking for. For us, it was definitely a positive. They’ve done renovations and keep improving the space; everything looked beautiful and well cared for. Honestly, we don’t understand how there could be such low ratings. The place is genuinely lovely. We’d be happy to stay again.

We honestly believe some of the lower reviews come from people who might not realise the property is right in the heart of the village. If you're looking for something completely remote, this might not be your place. But for us, it was perfect, clean, beautifully kept, with direct access to the beach, and full of local charm that comes because it’s in the village, not despite it. Waking up and seeing the ocean from the bed was incredible. We’ll definitely be back.

Shower was cold, bathtub on the pictures doesn’t work (no plug), also cold water. The cushions for outside were soaked from the rain so we couldn’t use them

This stay completely ruined two days of our trip down south after what had been a beautiful tour of Sri Lanka. We left after just one night of a three-night booking because the property was nothing like the photos. There was constant noise all night, fireworks right outside our room, loud music shaking the walls, and road noise that wasn’t contained at all. The place was filthy and poorly maintained: mould on the bedding, cushions, and even plant pots; dust everywhere; a broken hot plate; and rusted cutlery. The space was also much smaller than advertised, and the doors and gates didn’t lock properly. The lack of privacy was shocking, a camera facing the room and outdoor bathtub, and cafés just a couple of feet away with a clear view inside. I was caught completely off guard when someone was sitting outside looking directly into our room while I wasn’t properly dressed. After complaining, the hosts offered to move us to another one of their hotels. We accepted because it was late and we didn’t want the hassle of finding new accommodation at short notice. Still, this was an uncomfortable, unhygienic, and unsafe experience that I would never recommend.

Location was amazing! Convenient to cafes & restaurants.

The location was very noise, due to the road & waves crashing on the rocks.
