Idyllic, rustic, traditional cottage in rural village with wood burner and a great local pub

The location was nice and the area itself was peaceful. Once the cleaners had been in, the property was usable, though not spotless!

We arrived at 3:10 PM (check in 3) to find the property in a completely unclean and unhygienic state. The beds were slept in, the toilet was visibly dirty, and the floors and carpets were stained. The host acknowledged the issue and said cleaners would be sent, but they didn’t arrive for over an hour — and had not even been told we were coming. We weren’t able to enter the property until two hours after official check-in to which the host did not care. Even after the cleaners left, the property remained below standard, with visible dirt and dried leaves on the floor edges. The host dismissed issues and did not follow up line with what she said, definitely would not stay in one of her properties again.

The cottage is full of character, with charming decorations and designs. The location is 👌 perfect. Thank you
