Floating Hotel- Happy Nile Boat

Wasnt a problem for me but climbing from one boat to the other you have to be agile. .

I was upgraded to another boat, bigger and more luxurious!! I was amazed by my room, like a 4 stars hotel, with a balcony and an astonishing view of the Nile, just in front of Luxor Temple!!!!

The water at the bathroom was coming and go, sometimes no water at all, but for the price, I should not complain

From the very beginning, our stay was a disaster. The air conditioning didn’t work, and with 37°C (98°F) temperatures, it was impossible to sleep. On top of that, the water supply was unreliable—sometimes there was water, sometimes there wasn’t, which was unbearable in such extreme heat. The electricity kept cutting out, only one outlet worked, and the minibar had no power at all. When we arrived, they offered us water, but later charged us an outrageous price without any prior warning. The manager, Ahmed, was extremely unprofessional—if you don’t book the tours he sells, he won’t even bother showing you the room. We also never received breakfast, and they didn’t properly inform us about the schedules. To make matters worse, accessing the boat is dangerous. You have to walk across a ridiculously narrow plank, risking falling into the river. On top of everything, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom—absolutely unacceptable. This place is a scam. It’s worth paying a little more to stay on the other side of the river, where you’ll surely find much better options. Don’t make the same mistake we did!

The actual owner (Moon Boat now) is a nice guy. He was helpless against the hoax. His "first officer" (ha-hal) Adam is also nice. We all got along well and had a nice time. I leave the boat sadly and would have stayed longer than the 19 days.

The "ghost" offer Floating Hotel is a hoax. It's unbelievable that booking.com hasn't removed it after over 3 weeks. The pictured boat is under new ownership (Moon Boat), 200m further away from the public ferry. If you want to book the boat that is pictured, look for Moon Boat and have a good time with the REAL offer. 2 identical offers and -pictures by booking.com? Unbelievable! I come often for longtime stays to Egypt and know of the problems here. I understand. But that doesn't excuse extensive lies to customers.

Ahmed is a man of honor—respected by many, dealing in fair prices, and carrying a heart as vast as the Nile itself. He speaks of his crew as dear friends and leads his sons with a just and fatherly tone. His love for his work makes up for any expectation of luxury, because what he offers is something far greater—care, connection, and a genuine warmth that no five-star hotel could ever provide. I arrived during the first days of Ramadan and had the privilege of witnessing Ahmed and his crew preparing meals for those in need. But more than that, they welcomed me into this tradition, even inviting me to his home for dinner—a gesture of kindness I will never forget. And then there’s the room. Breathtaking doesn’t begin to describe it. This isn’t just a river view; it’s a window into the soul of Luxor. The city’s heartbeat pulses through the waves that crash against the boat’s exterior, a mesmerizing contrast to the dusty streets beyond.

No, the utilities don’t match a polished four-star hotel, but what you’ll find is something far richer—clean, warm, and humble surroundings that make space for real experiences. It’s a place for those who seek not just comfort, but meaning. Whether you’re sharing stories with locals or simply sitting in silence on the top deck, staring at the Nile under a sky full of stars, you’ll know—you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

I stayed for 3 nights, originally booked the boat which is really good enough, but for the next 2 nights, the owner upgraded me to the big boat, i am impressed with the view of Nile from the boat! And it's right opposite of Luxor temple. Totally one of my best experience! The owner and his staff are all attentive, helpful and friendly. It is convenient to cross to the east bank with boat. The breakfast is good portion too! Highly recommended 10/10!!

It is not one baot there are 3 boats tied together and you need to to cross over boat railing to move to next one that was so exhausting and to go to it you need to ride a dangerous small boat from land
