We absolutely loved the beds and linen! Really excellent! Loved the styling in the two double bed rooms, the bathrooms and the living room! The aircon in the kitchen/living room helped cool down the house, escaping the bushveld heat.

The space in the kitchen is limited with no place to unpack your groceries. BUT, there is a lovely big fridge [ ] freezer.

The property was in a beautiful setting, peaceful and private.

The highlight of this property was Emma the amazing lady who came and prepared breakfast for us each morning. She was unbelievably friendly and made us delicious breakfasts.

The Boomhuis was the perfect mid‑week escape my family and I needed. Everything was thoughtfully prepared for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The space has everything you need, and waking up there truly makes you feel immersed in nature; peaceful, refreshing, and absolutely beautiful. A special shout‑out to Emma, the morning cook, who was an absolute bundle of joy. Her warmth made every morning brighter, and her breakfasts were top‑notch. We also want to thank the hosts, who immediately assisted us when we had unexpected car trouble. Their kindness and quick help made all the difference and ensured our stay remained stress‑free. Highly recommended

As I was working abroad during our stay, the internet connection was not always reliable. We completely understand that being in the mountains can affect connectivity, but if a stronger package is available, upgrading it would be a great improvement for guests who need to work remotely. There are also a few minor maintenance and upkeep items that could be addressed to help ensure this beautiful spot continues to offer an outstanding experience.

We had a lovely stay at Boomhuis. It is a beautifully located property in the bush, offering a peaceful and authentic nature experience. We were delighted by daily visits from animals such as nyala and warthog, along with a wonderful variety of birdlife. We spent most of our time in the outdoor entertainment area, which was incredibly relaxing. Watching the animals while cooling off in the pool was definitely a highlight of our stay. A special mention goes to the housekeeper, Emma, who was exceptionally friendly and started each morning with her bubbly personality and delicious breakfasts. She truly added a personal and memorable touch to our stay.

The house itself is very comfortable and well equipped, although it would benefit from a bit of general maintenance. That said, it did not detract significantly from our overall experience.

Absolutely nothing

⭐ Very Disappointing Stay – Avoid Stayed from 24–27 Decembe 2025r. Arrived at 16h00 to no lights after a 45-minute drive up the hill. Only got assistance at 21h00. Rooms had a bad smell, were unclean, and there were frogs crawling on the walls. Breakfast was served by the cleaner, which was concerning. Paid a R2000 deposit promised within 7 days — never received it. No communication during the stay or afterward despite repeated attempts. This seems to be a pattern, as guests don’t get their deposits back. Would not recommend.

Aesthetically pleasing

There is no back up power,we had no electricity for a day,

OMG I went through all the reviews before booking and i was a little sceptical however,I took a leap of faith and boy i am grateful i did. Everything was perfect and perfect is an understatement. I used the back entrance to Mabalingwe which was the only reason I ended up speaking to the host cause i needed the code and she responded in time otherwise this was supposed to be a no contact stay ( that’s how easy) everything was. Was using a bigger car so no issues with the road. The pics on this app does not match it you must see it for yourself such a beautiful warm house. The cleanliness out of this world. Enough everything (utensils, cutlery etc) we were lucky to get visited but some cute animals every morning which was beautiful to see from the glass house. I am definitely coming back in winter

The place has a dishwasher, now my kids wants one. Costing me hahaha. There was nothing not to like
